As the Beyhive impatiently awaits the release of Beyonce‘s platinum edition of her self-titled album (arriving digitally Nov. 24), 30-second snippets of two new songs from the set surfaced online.
“7/11,” which is rumored to be impacting on Nov. 25, is an Auto-Tune club track that, based off simply 30 seconds, we imagine will spark a dance craze: “I put my foot down/ Yeah, my hands up/ Flexin’ while my hands up!”
Meanwhile, “Ring Off” features a more vulnerable Bey, letting go of a failed relationship after what sounds like infidelity: “Then you smile through the tears/ In the mirror you would stare/ And say a prayer like, ‘I wish he said I’m beautiful/ I wish it didn’t hurt at all/ I don’t know how I got here/ I was once the one who had his heart/ Until you had enough, then you took that ring off/ You took that ring off/ So tired of the lies and trying and fighting and crying/ You took that finger.”
The snippet closes on a high note, turning the nostalgic, heartbreaking ballad seamlessly into an empowering anthem: “Now the fun begins/ Dust yourself off.”
The two yet-unheard songs are featured on the box set’s disc titled More, which also includes four remixes: “Flawless Remix” featuring Nicki Minaj, “Drunk in Love Remix” featuring Jay Z and Kanye West, “Blow Remix” featuring Pharrell Williams, and “Standing on the Sun Remix” featuring Mr. Vegas.
