Mike D’Angelo is taking the DMV by storm.  He is a thriving Hip-Hop artist pushing the limits as a community leader and activist and lyrical MC.  He recently won “Breakout Artist of the Year,” at the DMV’s Annual Titan Awards, where the winner is based off of a voting system.  Mike also recently held a benefit concert for the family of  James Anthony Smith, a local teenager killed in SE, Washington, DC over a pair of Jordans, that his mother bought him as an early Christmas present.

Back in August, Dre Black had the pleasure of spending some time with Mike, where they went back to Mike’s childhood neighborhood located in Edgewood NE, Washington, DC.  From there they went on what was supposed to be a 15 min interview to a 4 hour day of great footage of Mike in his element.

                                                        Christmas Toy Drive 2017
                                                                  Washington DC

Washington DC (December 14th & 16th 2017) – Christmas Toy Drive 2017 is a one of kind 2 events created to help bring the holiday spirit to the Ward 8 Community of Southeast Washington, DC as well as raising awareness to the issues amongst the community and youths. Kween Kode Entertainment, Fly By Nature Foundation & the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington partnered together to have this Toy & Book drive for the kids. First will be the Toy collection Happy Hour on Thursday December 14th, 2017 at Exhale Bar & Lounge from 6-10PM. Second will be a Toy distribution & Community outreach event on Saturday December 16th, 2017 at the Boys & Girls of Greater Washington/The ARC from 2-6PM.

Many of our children suffer the effects of poverty every day, continuously going without, knowing that luxuries like new toys or clothes are simply not available to them in most communities in Washington DC which is why organizations as such come together to give back as much as they can to the community especially during the holiday season. The second event held on Saturday December 16th is all about the children and will feature moon bounce, face painting, dance off, and live performances from local artists, light refreshments, games, as well as special raffle prizes and simply showing all of them they are loved and people care about them. Also; the Boys & Girls of Greater Washington/ The ARC Branch Manager: Kerron Kalloo will be in attendance to help with the toy distributions, along with non-profit organization Fly By Nature Foundation founder: Victor Terry.

With over 200 children expected to be in attendance we look forward to building great relationships with the children, spreading holiday joy and educating on the importance of giving back to the community.

The event on December 14th at Exhale Bar & Lounge cover charge will be a Book or new unwrapped toy or $10 donation.

Dre Black Releases New Cover Art and Snippet of New Single

Dre Black gears up to release his latest single, “Love You Better.”  The cover art depicts a vintage photo of an old LIFE Magazine photo with the infamous Bonnie and Clyde on the cover, placed in between a couple sitting in a diner.  The photo represents what Dre sings in his song; ride or die love.  Dre has been in the studio crafting his upcoming EP which is expected to drop sometime in 2018.

“Love You Better,” produced by ProjectGeniusCreationz see’s Dre explore his Caribbean roots with a perfectly crafted riddim beat intermixed with a soulful delivery.
