“Moonlight”has won the Best Picture Oscar over strong favorite “La La Land”.
This was after Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway read out La La Land as the victor – and the cast and crew took to the stage and completed many of their acceptance speeches.
Directed by Barry Jenkins and adapted from an unpublished playscript by Tarell Alvin McCraney, the film is a about the coming of age of a black teenager from a rough neighborhood in Miami who experiences an intimate encounter with another man.
The 89th Academy Awards went down tonight and BLACK MAGIC was in full effect. Taking note of some notable wins for Viola Davis and Mahershala Ali.

Viola Davis wins the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for “Fences.” She becomes the23rd person to be crowned with an Oscar, Tony and Emmy Award. The first black woman to do so.

Congratulations to Mahershala Ali for his Oscar win for Best Supporting Actor for his role in “Moonlight.” He is the first Muslim actor to receive such an honor.
It can be agreed that Remy Ma bodied Nicki Minaj on the diss track “SHEther.”
Nicki posted her initial reactions.
If you have been under a rock the last 24 hrs, the #1 trending song on Twitter right now is a little song called “SHEther,” a major Nicki Minaj diss by Remy Ma. This week Nicki unveiled two collaborations that she is featured on one with Gucci Mane called “Make Love,” and the other called “Swalla,” with Jason Derulo. On both songs, Nicki seems to take aim at Remy Ma. Well, Remy wasted no time…actually less than 48 hrs to be exact to respond.
As a Nicki fan and supporter of Remy, I was a bit traumatized by the assassination of Nicki’s character etc. Could this be the modern day Lil Kim’ and Foxy Brown beef?
Nicki has no other options but to release nothing but venomous poison to win round 2.

Adele has won Record of the Year at this year’s Grammy’s for her hit song “Hello.” She shouted out Beyoncé, she called “Queen B” her idol and said, “I adore you. I want you to be my mommy.” When she won Album of the Year for “25,” she turned her attention to Bey once again, completely stanning out bringing Bey to tears. Check out the videos below:
Fresh off the Grammys, DJ Khaled released a surprise single, “Shining” featuring none other than Beyoncé and Jay Z. The winners’ anthem finds a pregnant Bey singing about her “winning” streak before Mr. Carter comes in at the end, rapping about his soon-to-be twins. Take a listen below:
Actor Larenz Tate is cast in a recurring role on the Starz hit series Power.
According to reports Larenz Tate has been cast as a city councilman from Jamaica Queens on season 4 of Power.
“Power” Season 4 is expected to air in summer 2017.
