Cardi B’s “Bodak Yellow” Hits #1 on Billboard 100

Cardi B made history this week becoming the second female rapper to top the Billboard Hot 100 without any other billed artists, with her summer anthem “Bodak Yellow,” following Lauryn Hill’s first solo Hot 100 entry (apart from the Fugees), “Doo Wop (That Thing),” for two weeks beginning with its Nov. 14, 1998, debut at No. 1. -VIA Billboard.

The song has been burning up the airwaves all summer long and Cardi has been receiving an overwhelming amount of love. After Cardi’s appearance on “the Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne, one of the hosts started a campaign to get Cardi to #1, calling for fans to stream the song, video and download it.
Congrats to Cardi B!!!

2017 Coast 2 Coast Music Convention

The 2017 Coast 2 Coast Music Convention was a success. After winning 3rd place in Los Angeles back in March, my journey continued in Miami. I met so many awesome people who are well connected in the industry. I had a chance to attend some panel discussions which featured the director of A&R at Atlantic Records, legendary producer Rockwilder, and well known and respected PD Jill Strada from 99 Jamz in Miami. I am looking forward to following up and building with the connections made.  Motivated Elevation Music and Publishing here we come!! Shout out to all the other DC artists that represented the District well.
