A ride in an ambulance is supposed to be guaranteed safe and secure. Unfortunately, for one 22-year old Connecticut woman, it was just the opposite.

The young woman reportedly fell at a holiday party, giving her a head injury, which caused her to lose consciousness.  She woke up to find that she had been sexually assaulted in the early hours of Christmas  by the Paramedic  who was responsible for taking care of her on the way to the hospital.

The Paramedic, 49 year-old Mark Powell has been charged with unlawful restraint and sexual assault after he turned himself in. It is not known whether or not the driver was knowledgeable of what was happening in the back of the ambulance.
