12 Year Anniversary!! R.I.P Aaliyah

I can’t believe it’s been 12 years already since Aaliyah left this earth.  I will never forget this day as I was on family vacation with my mom in Virginia Beach and woke up to the devastating news.  Mind you I was and still am her biggest fan, and had dreams of working with her one day.  I was absolutely in love with this woman!!!! It crushed my heart to know that such an amazing and uprising artist life had ended so suddenly, it’s tragic for anybody who loses their life.  However, I admired her style, laid back appeal, and if you ask me she had the original swag!!  Til this day I still listen to one of my all-time favorite CD’s “Aaliyah” which was her most personal, and defining album.  This most is dedicated to the one and only with a few of my favorite pics and videos!!!  ENJOY!!!!!

SMH: Deaf Man Stabbed After Sign Language Mistaken for Gang Signs

It’s already natural to have a strong heart for the disabled, and when you hear about something like this, it only makes things worse.  The growth of gangs in the black community is one of the most painful things to watch, especially when innocent people are affected.  This man didn’t deserve to die, and it’s shameful that this kind of ignorance overflows in many of our communities everywhere.

A deaf man in Burlington, North Carolina, was stabbed multiple times after his sign-language conversation with another deaf man was mistaken for gang signs.

The incident took place Wednesday afternoon on East Morehead Street, where 45-year-old Terrance Ervin Daniels was exchanging words in sign language with another man.

Police say Daniels was suddenly approached by 22-year-old Robert Jarell Neal, and stabbed multiple times with a kitchen knife.

He managed to make his way to a nearby intersection, where he collapsed on a patch of grass.

Emergency services eventually made their way to the scene and transported Daniels to Alamance Regional Medical Center in stable condition.

Autopsy Showed Jovan Belcher Was Intoxicated When He Killed Girlfriend And Himself

The death of Kansas City Chief Jovan Belcher and his girlfriend was horrible to hear about.   What’s even worse is that alcohol appears to have played a role in both of their deaths.  This might be a message to young people that messing around with this stuff can cause you to make very bad decisions that hurt you for the rest of your life.

According to a report from the Kansas City Star, former Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher was legally drunk when he killed his girlfriend before taking his own life on Dec. 1, an autopsy showed.

The autopsy showed Belcher’s blood-alcohol level was .17 when he died.

Belcher shot himself at the Chiefs practice facility about five hours after he was found sleeping in his Bentley by police while parked in front of his mistress’s apartment.

Chief Keef’s Stepbrother Gunned Down in Chicago

Chief Keef's Stepbrother Gunned Down in Chicago

The stepbrother of teen rapper Chief Keef was shot in the back of the head and killed last week in Chicago, according to local reports.

Ulysses Gissendanner III, 19, was gunned down last Wednesday near 124th Street and South Union Avenue, DNA Info reports. Gissendanner reportedly had been visiting his uncle in the West Pullman neighborhood when he was shot in a car.

Gissendanner, a rapper called ”YPN Boomtown,” is the stepson of Alfonso Cozart whose son is Chief Keef, aka Keith Cozart. The family said they don’t think Gissendanner’s ties to the rapper spurred the shooting, and Keef’s lawyer told DNAinfo he has no relationship with his father or Gissendanner.

Keef recently released “Finally Rich,” a much-hyped album that sold about 50,000 copies in its first week. He was convicted last year of pointing a gun at a Chicago police officer and came under fire in September for joking on Twitter about the shooting death of an 18-year-old rival rapper, Joseph “Lil JoJo” Coleman. He later claimed his Twitter account was hacked.

Keef moved to Northbrook late last year.  Gissendanner is the latest of several young local rappers shot and killed in the past several months. Joshua Davis, 18, was shot to death on Christmas night in Chicago after an altercation with several males on a CTA bus, police said. Officials said the group followed Davis off the bus, and one of the men shot him several times in the torso and once in the ear.

The family of the rapper said they believe his hooded sweatshirt honoring Lil JoJo led to his death.

According To Autopsy Jerry Brown Was Sober When Killed in Car Crash

Jerry Brown had consumed well below the Texas legal limit of alcohol when he died last month in a car driven by Dallas Cowboys teammate Josh Brent, according to an autopsy report.

Neither Brown, a practice squad player, not Brent, the team’s starting defensive tackle, wore seat belts in the one-car accident on December 8. Brown’s blood-alcohol content was determined to be 0.0056 – nowhere near the limit of 0.08.

Meanwhile, Brent’s blood-alcohol content was 0.18, which is more than twice the legal limit at the time of the accident. He has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and freed on $100,000 bond.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office reported in its autopsy Thursday that Brown died of head and neck trauma when their vehicle overturned. He had a dislocated neck and a severely bruised spine. Brent apparently was unharmed and was seen pulling his friend from the wreckage when police arrived.

Brent, who has been emotionally distraught since the accident, according to his lawyers, has received support from Brown’s family and even attended a memorial service for the deceased player at the behest of Brown’s mother.

The Cowboys have supported Brent and encouraged him to attend a game last month. He was on the sideline for more than half of Dallas’ comeback victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers two weeks after the accident. When he learned his presence there caused somewhat of a commotion, Brent left the stadium. Coach Jason Garrett and owner Jerry Jones said they were unaware that Brent would be present at the game.

A few days later, the team and league forbade him from attending any more Cowboys games.

Was Rapper Lil Twist Driving Justin Bieber’s Car At Time Of The Deadly Accident?

Last night a photographer was struck and killed by an SUV while attempting to get a picture of Justin Bieber in his Ferarri, after the vehicle was pulled over by Los Angeles police.

According to TMZ, Bieber, 18, was not even in the car. The vehicle was being driven by his pal, 19-year-old rapper Lil Twist, who is Lil Wayne’s protégé.

Lil Twist and Bieber were hanging out at the Beverly Hills Four Seasons Hotel Tuesday afternoon, and for some reason Lil Twist left in the white Ferrari without Justin.

Around 6:00 p.m. the California Highway Patrol pulled over Bieber’s white Ferrari on Sepulveda Boulevard in Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Chris Guerra, the 29-year-old photographer, arrived at the scene, got out of his car and crossed the street to take photos, but was directed by officers to return to his car. He was reportedly struck and killed by an SUV as he went back across the boulevard to his vehicle.

The singer has since issued a statement offering his condolences to the photographer’s family and also calling for legislation to protect celebrities from being harassed by paparazzi.

“While I was not present nor directly involved with this tragic accident, my thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim,” Bieber said in a statement to CNN.

“Hopefully this tragedy will finally inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”

The LAPD are investigating, but no charges have been filed.

Kansas City Chiefs Player Involved In Murder-Suicide

Jovan Belcher

Via ESPN/Associated Press

It is suspected that Jovan Belcher, a 25-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player fatally shot his girlfriend early Saturday, then drove to Arrowhead Stadium and committed suicide in front of his coach and general manager, police said. Police spokesman Darin Snapp said the player killed his girlfriend and then went to the team practice facility, where he shot himself. He did not identify either the player or his victim.  Members of the Chiefs organization told ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that some players noticed the shooter was troubled in his car, and went in the facility and told someone, before coach Romeo Crennel and general manager Scott Pioli called police and went outside to talk to him. The player then killed himself in front of them.

Before turning the gun on himself, the player thanked Pioli and Crennel for all they had done for him, Snapp said. Authorities received a call Saturday morning from a woman who said her daughter had been shot multiple times at a residence about five miles away from the Arrowhead complex.  “When we arrived, a lady informed us that her daughter had been shot multiple times by her boyfriend, by the daughter’s boyfriend,” Snapp said. “She identified him as a Chiefs player.” Snapp said a call was then received from the Chiefs’ facility. “The description matched the suspect description from that other address. We kind of knew what we were dealing with,” he said. The player was “holding a gun to his head” as he stood in front of the front doors of the practice facility.

“And there were Pioli and Crennel and another coach or employee was standing outside and appeared to be talking to him. It appeared they were talking to the suspect,” Snapp said. “The suspect began to walk in the opposite direction of the coaches and the officers and that’s when they heard the gunshot. It appears he took his own life.”  The coaches told police they never felt in any danger, Snapp said. “They said the player was actually thanking them for everything they’d done for him,” he said. “They were just talking to him and he was thanking them and everything. That’s when he walked away and shot himself.”  Snapp described the girlfriend as in her early 20s and that she and the player had a child together. He said the woman’s mother told police they had recently been arguing.  Arrowhead Stadium has been lockdown since about 8 a.m.  “We can confirm that there was an incident at Arrowhead earlier this morning,” the Chiefs said in a statement. “We are cooperating with authorities in their investigation.”

Kansas City is scheduled to host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. The league has informed the Panthers to travel as scheduled because the game is going on as scheduled. The Chiefs, expected to contend for the AFC West title, are 1-10 and mired in an eight-game losing streak.  The Chiefs have been ravaged by injuries, lead the league in turnovers, can’t settle on a quarterback and are dealing with a full-fledged fan rebellion.

Things have been so bad this season that Crennel fired himself as defensive coordinator. The Twitter account for a fan group known as “Save Our Chiefs” recently surpassed 80,000 followers, about 17,000 more than the announced crowd at a recent game.
