ARTIST SPOTLIGHT – “$LICK PU$HA”
When you think of MC’s that come from Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, legendary names such as JAY Z, Big Daddy Kane, and Notorious B.I.G comes to mind. But in 2015, there are a new wave of up and coming MC’s coming out the Stuy and they are ready to make their mark. One artist being $lick Pu$ha, the young MC with the pretty boy swag and fiery flow is on the horizon. $LICK PU$HA started rhyming when he was 17, but just used it as a hobby. He was always more of an athlete growing up.
$LICK would always write rhymes but never took it seriously. Now at age 20, he is evolving into an artist that wants to be remembered for his music . He respects anybody that has turned a negative into a positive and coming from the streets of Bed Stuy, that is exactly what $LICK PU$HA has done. His number one goal is to be remembered for his music and for people to understand his overall presence as not just a talented artist but a real person.

“When making this song I wanted to show a more sexual side to my lyrics and at the same time I wanted it to be witty and catchy. Lol I actually pictured the video to the song before I created to lyrics. I’m not sure if that made the creative process easier or more difficult but it all turned out pretty good if you ask me. All that was needed left was some Heavy vocals and Breezy (@mz_ooooohhweeee) covered that perfectly.”

Dipset reunites on “Have My Money,” their first track since 2010’s “Salute.”
Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and Freekey Zekey announced their reunion during an interview with Funkmaster Flex on Hot 97.

Last month Ray J’s girlfriend Princess Love threatened to kill herself after Ray J tried to break up with her.
Newly released 911 call shows Ray J feared for his own life as well…
TMZ got a hold of the 911 tape and Ray J is heard telling the operator that he’s afraid to go back to the house because Princess was threatening to kill herself and ‘see him in heaven’ leading him to believe she planned to kill him, too.

“When I say I’m versatile I really mean just that. The key instrument a true artist has is being challenged. When I hear beats like Jay Z’s classic “I’m feeling it”, I see it as a challenge. The fact of the matter is, rappers are afraid to look or sound bad. So they stray away from songs or concepts that will put them in that position. Me on the other hand, I think of how many people can’t do something and then I attempt to do it. Doing this song was all about challenging myself and daring other people to do the same.”

“This song was pure memories. All of which was from my childhood so I found it fitting to feature my own children this time. I think they had more fun recording the song than I did (laughs). Even though I spoke on the gifts we received as Christmas presents, I wanted to touch more on the filling or the time we spend with each other during or around Christmas Day. It seems as if I treasure the times when we didn’t have much these days. Things back then where a lot simpler and more precious (sad to say). I’m just happy I was able to express it in song.”

Bobby Shmurda Bail Set at $2 Million
Last week, 21-year-old rapper Ackquille “Bobby Shmurda” Pollard was arrested in mid-town Manhattan after a two-year undercover investigation conducted by the Brooklyn gang violence, drugs and guns task force.
Bobby has pleaded not guilty and his bail has been set at $2 million.

“Ackquille is the driving force behind the GS9 gang,” said Special Narcotics Prosecutor Nigel Farinha in Manhattan Supreme Court, where the crew was arraigned on murder, attempted murder, assault and drug dealing raps. “He is also a violent enforcer of the gang’s activity. He’s a drug dealer, and a prolific one at that.”
Shmurda, 21, who is signed to Epic Records, a subsidiary label of Sony Music, pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, weapon possession and drug dealing raps. Justice James Burke set bail at $2 million for Schmurda and Chad Marshall aka “Rowdy Rebel,” who is also signed to Epic Records.
Despite the serious allegations, the label is standing behind the artists and helped to retain their lawyers.

Every time we are on a song together I automatically go into killing mode because I know he’s going to give it everything he got.
