Mother’s Day Parade Shooting Suspect Caught On Camera

s-NEW-ORLEANS-SHOOTING-large

There have been so many tragic instances of hostile individuals taking advantage of proud Americans who gather to celebrate and enjoy one another. From the mass shooting during the screening of The Dark Night Rises in Colorado, to the Boston Marathon shooting, and now this- a shooting on the day designated for celebrating the women who gave us all life.

The man suspected to have committed the crime obviously had no appreciation for his or any other’s mother’s child’s life. The Huffington Post reported:

New Orleans police hope a $10,000 reward and blurry surveillance camera images will lead to arrests in a Mother’s Day shooting that wounded 19 people and showed again how far the city has to go to shake a persistent culture of violence that belies the city’s festive image.
Angry residents said gun violence – which has flared at two other city celebrations this year – goes hand-in-hand with the city’s other deeply rooted problems such as poverty and urban blight. The investigators tasked with solving Sunday’s shooting work within an agency that’s had its own troubles rebounding from years of corruption while trying to halt violent crime.
“The old people are scared to walk the streets. The children can’t even play outside,” Ronald Lewis, 61, said Monday as he sat on the front stoop of his house, about a half a block from the shooting site. His window sill has a hole from a bullet that hit it last year. Across the street sits a house marked by bullets he said were fired two weeks ago.
“The youngsters are doing all this,” said Jones, who was away from home when the latest shooting broke out.
Video released early Monday shows a crowd gathered for a boisterous second-line parade suddenly scattering in all directions, with some falling to the ground. They appear to be running from a man in a white T-shirt and dark pants who turns and runs out of the picture. The image isn’t clear, but police say they hope someone will recognize him and notify investigators.
Police said there may have been as many as three gunmen. The suspects escaped despite the presence of officers who were interspersed through the crowd as part of routine precautions for such an event.

Study Connects Early Baldness to Prostate Cancer in African Americans

New research finds a link between early baldness and cancer of the male reproductive gland known as the prostate. The study involved African-American men, a group at particularly high risk of prostate cancer.

At first glance, there doesn’t seem to be an obvious connection between prostate cancer and baldness. But University of Pennsylvania researcher Charnita M. Zeigler-Johnson, PhD, says the two may be linked through a testosterone product called dihydrotestosterone, or DHT.  The hormonal chemical, Zeigler-Johnson explains, “is a form of testosterone that seems to be associated with male-pattern baldness and also connected to prostate cancer occurrence and prostate cancer progression.”

Previous studies have looked at the link between baldness and prostate cancer, but Zeigler-Johnson says this is the first to focus on African-American men, whose prostate cancer death rate is two and a half times that of white American men.

In the study, Zeigler-Johnson and her colleagues asked about 300 prostate cancer patients and some 200 non-patients about their baldness history. They then compared the type of baldness and the age when the men started losing hair with their medical histories..

The study by Charnita Zeigler-Johnson and her colleagues is published in the journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.

Beyonce Working on Being Regular

For her fifth album Beyonce is done trying to appease everyone and is just working on being regular.

Beyonce’s producer The Dream tells Rap FixLive,

“There’s no particular sound that I think we’re shooting for, we’re just trying to make music that feels good.”

“If you seen the HBO thing, which was great, we had been talking about doing something that showcases who she is and what she wants because we see those figures that are so out of the stratosphere.”

“She’s just shooting to be regular and OK and not trying to appease everybody.”

Family Friend Charged in Kile Glover’s Death

Jeffrey Hubbard has been charged with homicide by vessel in the tragic death of Tameka Raymond’s 11 year old son, Kile Glover.

From The AJC

The family friend who authorities said ran over Usher’s stepson while piloting a jet ski on Lake Lanier was arrested Friday morning, one day after a Hall County grand jury indicted him on charges including homicide by vessel. Jeffrey Simon Hubbard, of Atlanta, is being held at the Hall County Jail without bond and will appear before a judge Saturday.

His arrest comes nearly eight months after the death of 11-year-old Kile Glover, who was tubing with a 15-year-old girl when they were struck by Hubbard’s jet ski. Kile was unresponsive when pulled from the water and died of heart failure after spending nearly two weeks in a coma. The 15-year-old sustained minor injuries.

The 11-year-old was the son of Tameka Foster and Ryan Glover, president of Bounce TV and a former executive with Turner Broadcasting. Foster married Usher after her marriage to Glover dissolved.

Deelishis Leaps From Window to Escape Fiancee

A few days ago Flava of Love winner London ‘Deelishis’ Charles posted pictures on Instagram of her arm and foot wrapped in ace bandages.

Rumors quickly spread that Deelishis had been jumped by a pack of angry strippers. Not true. She’d actually been jumped by her angry fiancee’.

From The Detroit News

Deelishis was injured jumping out of a second story window Sunday in Farmington Hills after allegedly being assaulted by Franklin resident Orlando Gordon, according to federal court records.

Gordon was free on bond and awaiting trial in federal court at the time of the incident.

He was indicted in January 2012 along with more than a dozen others and accused of participating in a drug-trafficking operation involving thousands of pounds of cocaine and marijuana.

Prosecutors asked a federal judge Thursday to revoke Gordon’s bond due, in part, to the alleged assault.

Court records and a police report portray a violent incident Sunday at the reality-show star’s home on Muer Cove north of 13 Mile, where Deelishis lives with her two daughters.

At 4:20 a.m., Gordon smashed through the front door and struck Deelishis in the face, according to court records.

Deelishis, who had been sleeping in her daughter’s bedroom, ran to her master bedroom, where her friend was asleep. The friend?

Michael Blackson, a popular stand-up comic known as The African King of Comedy.

He performed Saturday at the Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts in Detroit.

Gordon allegedly chased the comic and hit him in the face, according to court records.

Deelishis, meanwhile, locked the bedroom door.

Her estranged fiancee tried to get into the bedroom, prompting Deelishis to rip open the window screen and jump two stories to the ground, according to police.

She later fled to a neighbor’s home and Gordon left his ex-fiancee’s house, according to police.

“Davis was in a lot of pain from her right wrist,” according to the police report. “Davis also had blood on her right hand.” She was taken to Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital.

Gordon is scheduled to stand trial April 9.

He is accused of heading a large-scale drug ring with a second man, Wendell Tobias of Detroit.

During a prolonged investigation, federal drug agents have seized more than $1 million cash, classic cars and more than $130,000 in jewelry – including Deelishis’ engagement ring and Rolex watch.

Chris Brown Calls Rihanna Beating Biggest Mistake of His Life

The trajectory of Chris Brown’s career was forever altered after he brutally beat Rihanna during an argument the night before the Grammys in 2009.

Four years later Rihanna has completely forgiven him and Chris Brown calls the incident the biggest mistake of his life.

Chris Brown tells The Mirror,

“Sometimes you row, you fight, with the one you love and things get said, stuff spirals.

“That night was the deepest regret of my life, the biggest mistake.

“But she loves me – what can I say? I’m forgiven… but, yes, I worked hard for it.”

“I’ve learned a lot since that night and I’ve grown up. I was very young and I took a lot of stuff, fame, for granted.”

“I didn’t understand it. The support from those who do know me and the fans, who are incredible, got me through.”
