Taxstone, host of the popular “Tax Season” podcast, was arrested in connection with the rapper, Troy Ave shooting at a T.I. concert at New York’s Irving Plaza last year.

According to the New York Daily News,  Tax was scheduled to appear in court on a weapons possession charge on Tuesday and has been under investigation for his alleged involvement in the May shooting.

“He will be arraigned tomorrow,” said Taxstone’s lawyer, Ken Montgomery. “We look forward to reading the complaint from the government.”

According to the Daily News, he served 18 months for weapons and robbery charges in the past. He also returned to jail in 2010 and 2012 for additional time due to parole violations. Tax often speaks about his time in jail on his “Tax Season” podcast, which boasts a 5-star rating on iTunes.

Troy Ave is currently out on $500,000 bond following the May shooting at Irving Plaza where he says he was shot and where his bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, was killed. Troy’s legal team claims he somehow took the gun away from the shooter and fired back in self-defense.

Troy’s lawyer Scott Leemon issued a statement on the matter, though he would not identify anyone as the shooter at this time. “As I told you day one, Troy was a victim,” Leemon explained. “[Troy] was shot by someone else and his friend and bodyguard died a hero.”

Why Did Aaliyah’s Music Mysteriously Disappear After Appearing in iTunes Top 10

Many fans like myself were left wondering what happened to the Aaliyah music that appeared on iTunes less than 2 days ago. An album pegged “Ultimate: Aaliyah’s Greatest Hits,” surged into the top 10 of  iTunes.  The only Aaliyah album that has been available for purchase or streaming is her debut album “Age Ain’t Nothing but A Number.” It appeared that the music came out of nowhere.  Now more information is coming out to what may have happened. Seemingly missing  from streaming services has been her sophomore and third albums, “One in a Million,” and “Aaliyah.”

In a Complex magazine investigation they reported that Aaliyah’s uncle Barry Hankerson, who managed her career from its beginning, refuses to allow the music to be released digitally. Craze Productions, a London company that doesn’t own any of the rights to Aaliyah’s music, are illegally posting the music to iTunes and Apple Music, as they did yesterday. This was the second time the company employed this strategy; the only other time Aaliyah’s greatest hits were available for digital purchase was when Craze uploaded the music in 2013.

“Our lawyers are handling it,” Rell Lafargue, COO of Reservoir Media—the current rightsholder of the Aaliyah discography—told Complex when reached before the greatest hits collection was removed. “I don’t think you’ll see it there long.”

Apple was unavailable for comment.

Even some celebrities reacted to the mishap:

One of my favorite male R&B singers of the new school has released a new song.  August Alsina announced that he will be releasing a new album entitled “Drugs.”  He also released a song of the same title on his Soundcloud.

According to August, the title is a reflection of a major realization the singer had while crafting new music.

“I realized how addicted to certain ways of living life I was, addicted to chaos, drama, confusion,” he said. “Lately, for me, it’s been about breaking the cycle and creating a new normal. That new normal is love. I have a newfound addiction. Through love and beautiful women, I’ve been able to find myself, reach higher places within myself.”

This marks the start of a new era for the singer. “Sooooo fucking excited to finally beable to release new music!!!!” he wrote to fans. “Thank you all for being so patient with me on my journey… Im so proud to share all of the newness with yal & spread vibrations of love through the music.”
