Federal Judge Issues Emergency Stay Amidst Trump’s Order

When President Donald Trump declared at the Pentagon Friday he was enacting strict new measures to prevent domestic terror attacks, there were few within his government who knew exactly what he meant. According to CNN, Administration officials weren’t immediately sure which countries’ citizens would be barred from entering the United States. The Department of Homeland Security was left making a legal analysis on the order after Trump signed it. A Border Patrol agent, confronted with arriving refugees, referred questions only to the President himself, according to court filings.

Saturday night, a federal judge granted an emergency stay for citizens of the affected countries who had already arrived in the US and those who are in transit and hold valid visas, ruling they can legally enter the US.  Trump’s unilateral moves, which have drawn the ire of human rights groups and prompted protests at US airports, reflect the President’s desire to quickly make good on his campaign promises. But they also encapsulate the pitfalls of an administration largely operated by officials with scant federal experience.  It wasn’t until Friday, the day Trump signed the order banning travel from seven Muslim, majority countries for 90 days and suspending all refugee admission for 120 days, that career homeland security staff were allowed to see the final details of the order, a person familiar with the matter said.

The result was widespread confusion across the country on Saturday as airports struggled to adjust to the new directives. In New York, two Iraqi nationals sued the federal government after they were detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport, and 10 others were detained as well.
I hope that America realizes the mistake they have made by electing an idiot for their leader. It disgusts me to no end, to know that what Trump is doing is unconstitutional and inhumane.  God Bless him!!!

Steve Harvey Responds to Trump Backlash

Earlier this week comedian Steve Harvey raised eyebrows after meeting with president-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York and agreeing to work with Dr. Ben Carson at the department of Housing and Urban Development.

Steve now admits he was surprised and hurt by the severe backlash.

In his first radio show since his meeting with Trump Steve admits,

“On a personal note, lot of y’all hurt me. I didn’t expect the backlash to be so fierce. I also understand if I’m going to keep getting stabbed at, at least while you’re stabbing me, you should understand my intent.”

“I’m from the hood. I’ve been putting in the work for years. I care about these inner cities because that’s where I’m from.”

“But I’m also very aware of the anger that so many people feel. And these voices will continue to be heard and they should. If we sit at the table, then we can have a say-so.”

“When I walked away, (I felt) there might be a real chance for some positive to come out of what many feel is doom and gloom.”

“The White-Lash Effect”

Image result for election 2016

Now that the people have spoken and have chosen their leader as Donald Trump, one side is excited about the new direction of the country and others are disappointed, heartbroken and trying to figure it all out.  It seems like we as a people have worked so hard to get to where we are to feel like we are taking further steps behind.  Whatever the case, only time will tell how everything plays out.  Many have their theories and will try and justify whatever makes sense to them.  However, the most important thing we can do is educate ourselves and understand the country in which we reside.

Start with understanding the Electoral Vote.

Lupe’s Inauguration Fiasco

Last night Lupe Fiasco was kicked off stage at an Obama Inauguration party in Washington D.C. after launching into an anti-Obama rap during his set. For reasons unknown, considering his vocal anti-government stance, Lupe Fiasco was invited by StartUp RockOn to perform at their 2013 Presidential Inauguration party.
During his performance of ‘Words I Never Said’ Lupe spit,

“Limbaugh is a racist / Glenn Beck is a racist / Gaza Strip was getting bombed/ Obama didn’t say s— / That’s why I ain’t vote for him / next one, either / I’m part of the problem / my problem is I’m peaceful”

Next thing you know, Lupe’s mic went silence and the lights on stage went out.

House Approves Fiscal Cliff Bill

Speaker_Boehner-00573-2501

With bipartisan support, the House approved the fiscal cliff bill late Tuesday night after Republican leaders ultimately decided not to try and tack on an amendment to the Senate version of the legislation, which passed in the upper chamber around 2 a.m. ET Tuesday morning.  The bill passes 257-167.

The package puts off budget cuts for two months and preserves Bush-era income tax cuts for individuals earning less than $400,000 or couples earning less than $450,000.

Make Sure You Cast a Vote Today If You Haven’t Already!!!

Please if your registered to vote, make sure you excercise your right.  Our predecessors have fought long and hard so that African-Americans and women could have the opportunity to cast a legit vote in the USA.  This election has been a tight race, and will impact our lives on many levels if we don’t vote, and if we don’t vote correctly!!  Let’s make the right choice!!  #VOTE #VOTE #VOTE

VIA Washington (CNN) — President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney are neck-and-neck in national polls, while Obama has an edge in crucial battleground states that will decide todays’s election.

The dynamic sets up a possible outcome that has happened rarely in American politics and could undermine the credibility of the victor — Romney beats Obama in the overall vote, but the president gets reelected by winning the decisive Electoral College.

It would be the fifth time in history that the candidate who got the most overall support didn’t win the election, and the first time that an incumbent president prevailed without capturing the popular vote.
