Ev’ry Day Black are building a community of talent and like-minded artists in the DMV. Not just a band, Ev’ryday Black is a lifestyle, and we’re building that energy everywhere we can. We’re using our internet radio show to expore the special talents that the DMV have to share with the world, and getting the word out as vest we can. The Jan 31 showcase is our first of many shows that will give our friends and fans a chance to catch the live performances of all the great talent we’ve been interacting with.

Artist Spotlight: Sha Main – “Play The Fool” – Go-Go Remix F/Ev’ryday Black

ShaMain is a Georgetown, Guyana native who brings a fresh voice to music that is transcendent and timeless. A musician, singer, & passionate songwriter, with a beautiful meld of various musical genres She is a true singer of the soul. ShaMain pours her all into the making of each record extracting from real life situations that anyone who has experienced love can relate to.

ShaMain released her first project in May of 2012 a mix-tape entitled “My Diary” which received rave reviews and over 4000 downloads in the first month. Exclusive Premiere Video: Ev’ryday Black – “So Fresh”

DC’s own Ev’ryday Black Band releases the visuals for their first single “So Fresh,”  which has been creating a lot of buzz for the Hip-Hop-Soul band.  Shot and recorded at DC’s Listen Vision studios last Summer, the video takes a look at the behind the scenes, in studio session as Dre Black and J-Ev’ryday lay down their vocals for the track.  “So Fresh” is Ev’ryday Black street anthem about looking and staying fly. One of their most braggadocios songs to date see’s Dre Black label dropping, and stating “if it ain’t got a label, then that just won’t do;” however the song was written in good fun.  The men of Ev’ryday Black are really not materialistic at all, but had to embody the boldness and go-go flavored tune to enhance the swag heavy track.  Get into “So Fresh” below:

Artist Spotlight – ‘M!xBreed’

Hailing from the DMV M!xbreed is bringing a fresh style to the Hip-Hop game.  With so many different artists, rappers, crews, etc mixing it up throughout the DMV, it takes a special breed to outshine the rest of the competition.  M!xbreed is doing just that making sure that he creates his own lane.  M!xbreed is an enigma to say the least. Everything you look for in an artist but nothing you’d ever expect. Lyrical, energetic, charismatic, M!xbreed consistently strives to not only be the best but also the most original. With a seemingly unorthodox style and flow makes him sound perfectly out of place.

M!xbreed began pursuing his passion after making a name for himself at Woodbridge High School (VA) with the first four bars he uttered. There was a group of guys banging on lockers & a trash can recreating the beat to Pharell’s “Grinding.” He walked in the hallway and said, “Grinding… Girls only thing in my mind B, Girls call me Mikey… Flow in my veins like I.V./ I mean I got it in the bag like an I.V./ Tell Timbaland I’m def (deaf), he should sign me”. Those 4 bars set the integrity for the rest of his life. He signed with DC’s number one independent recording label and booking agency G Town Entertainment/Music. Now, he does shows with artists such as Jeezy, Juvenile and Young Dro. Ev’ryday Black Radio featuring J’Evryday and Dre Black is a unique radio show that will premiere this Saturday, July 27th, 2013 at 7:00pm and every Saturday thereafter; showcasing indie and underground artists and music, also exposing the world to the music that is Ev’ryday Black, a Hip-Hop/Soul band with roots in Rock n’ Roll,  Funk, and Go-Go.  The weekly show provides other up and coming artists insightful hints into taking their craft to the next level. The show also features up-to-date hot topics, international, national, and local news and politics, and the latest in entertainment, music, and fashion.  “The Real Deal” a segment within the show, keeps it all the way real as Ev’ryday Black discusses controversial topics and lead thought provoking discussions with invited panelists.

The new radio show will be broadcasted through Listen Vision Recording Studios online streaming website, www.ListenVisionLive.com, where the broadcast of Ev’ryday Black Radio will stream live. Ev’ryday Black was created back in 2007 by bestfriends J’Evryday and Dre Black. Combining the most talented of musicians from across the DMV,  Ev’ryday Black was birthed from the roots of  Soul, Hip-Hop, Funk with hint of that DC sound Go-Go.  The band had a brief stint at the Ras Dashen and the R & R, before disbanding in 2008. She’s Not Playing!!!! Brandy Kills “Put It Down” at Howard Theater in DC

Brandy debuted her new single “Put It Down” live in Washington, DC last night.  Taking front, stage, centre at the Howard Theater, the R&B star murked the stage with hard hitting choreography and vocals that seems to be always on point.  From what I’m hearing Bran definitely “Put it Down!!”  Anticipation continues to build as her highly awaited CD “Two Eleven” will be hitting stores within months.

If you don’t know by now, you gon learn today!!!  Introducing one of my homie’s and good friend X-Kalibur hailing from the DMV, Prince George’s County area.  I met X-Kal  years ago through my cousin and every since that day we have been musically bonded.  We have collaborated on a number of exclusive tracks that hasn’t even seen the light of day yet.  But we both plan to get back in the studio and formally release an “official” collaboration.  X-Kal has inspired me with his witty lyrical content and throwback 90’s flow reminiscent of some ol’ classic Wu-Tang and Talib Kewli type shit… it’s thought provoking music that needs to be heard.  Not the same thing you hear on every other rapper’s cd.  Get into it X-Kalibur below:

This Saturday June 2, 2012, your summer will be unlocked with “Ev’ryday Black: Keys to the Summer Celebration.” Haydee’s Lounge 6303 Georgia Ave, NW, Washington, DC.  Doors open at 8pm, with special guest performances by Buddha (Rapper/Poet) and  PotheFireman w/the Grand Champions (Rapper ensemble).
