ARTIST SPOTLIGHT – “$LICK PU$HA”

When you think of MC’s that come from Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, legendary names such as JAY Z, Big Daddy Kane, and Notorious B.I.G comes to mind.  But in 2015, there are a new wave of up and coming MC’s coming out the Stuy and they are ready to make their mark.  One artist being $lick Pu$ha, the young MC with the pretty boy swag and fiery flow is on the horizon.  $LICK PU$HA started rhyming when he was 17, but just used it as a hobby.  He was always more of an athlete growing up.

$LICK would always write rhymes but never took it seriously.  Now at age 20, he is  evolving into an artist that wants to be remembered for his music .  He respects anybody that has turned a negative into a positive and coming from the streets of Bed Stuy, that is exactly what $LICK PU$HA has done.  His number one goal is to be remembered for his music and for people to understand his overall presence as not just a talented artist but a real person.

Expect big things to come from $LICK PUSHA!!  Make sure you look out for his new video for his new single “Wait on It,” dropping Feb. 1st.  Check out the single below:

The highly anticipated Whitney Houston biopic ‘Whitney’ aired on Lifetime Saturday night to mixed reviews.
Unlike Lifetime’s Wendy Williams produced Aaliyah biopic, Angela Basset received a much warmer welcome for her Whitney Houston biopic.

While there were many complaints that the feature was way too short and focused too much on Bobby Brown and not enough on Whitney fans on social media were pleased with YaYa DeCosta’s portrayal of Whitney Houston and with Deborah Cox’s vocals.

A$AP Mob founder Steven ‘A$AP Yams’ Rodriguez found dead in New York…

Details are sketchy but multiple sources have confirmed that A$AP Yams has died. He was 26.

According to reports Yams struggled with his sobriety and entered rehab in July 2014 however his very last Tweet, “Bodeine Brazy,” has caused speculation that he may have relapsed.

Funk Master Flex Accues Jay Z of Theft

Hot 97 DJ Funk Master Flex goes on a vicious on-air rant against Jay Z accusing him of stealing his idea for a mobile apP.

Thursday night Funk Master Flex lit up NY airwaves accusing Jay Z’s Life + Times website of pumping him for information about his mobile app only to turn around and use the info for Jay Z’s failed Samsung Magna Carta app. Flex also accused Jay of trying to pump him for information about the Dip Set reunion.

Then last night Flex posted text messages online claiming Jay was trying to get at him.

Details from Nick and Mariah’s Divorce Leak

Details from the Mariah Carey / Nick Cannon divorce leak online.
According to TMZ Nick was the first to file pulling the plug December 12, 2014.

There’s also an airtight prenup in place and a gag order that will cost Nick $250k if he violates and Mariah $500k if she breaks the pact.

Interesting note: The divorce papers list Mariah’s net worth as $150 million and states Nick came into the marriage in 2008 with $500k and that Nick took out a $470k loan to purchase MiMi’s engagement ring.

Method Behind the Madness: 

“When making this song I wanted to show a more sexual side to my lyrics and at the same time I wanted it to be witty and catchy. Lol I actually pictured the video to the song before I created to lyrics. I’m not sure if that made the creative process easier or more difficult but it all turned out pretty good if you ask me. All that was needed left was some Heavy vocals and Breezy (@mz_ooooohhweeee) covered that perfectly.”

Jennifer Hudson Headed to Broadway

Jennifer Hudson is headed to Broadway in Oprah Winfrey’s new production of The Color Purple. J-Hud is set to play Miss Celie, a role previously played by Fantasia Barrino. The new production is said to be a stripped down version of the last show.

The start date has not been released.
