Protesters took to the streets of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina, on Wednesday night to show their disappointment with the decision to not charge an officer in the shooting death of Keith Lamont Scott.
A two-month investigation determined that Charlotte-Mecklenburg police Officer Brentley Vinson was justified in shooting Scott in an apartment complex parking lot. Mecklenburg County District Attorney Andrew Murray said he didn’t reach the conclusions alone; a total of 15 prosecutors unanimously agreed with the decision.
The killing led to heated protests and divided the city of Charlotte. Compared to previous demonstrations over Scott’s death, a smaller crowd turned out Wednesday night, about 100 people. At least four people were arrested as police tried to corral protesters off the streets, three for obstructing traffic.
But the protesters’ message was the same as before.
“Stop killing black people,” some protesters’ T-shirts read.
“How to get away with murder: Become a cop,” said the signs.
“If we don’t get no justice then you don’t get no peace,” they chanted.

Kanye West was hospitalized in Los Angeles on late Monday following a series of bizarre incidents that ended with him canceling the Saint Pablo Tour.
TMZ is reporting that Yeezy was taken to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center for psychiatric evaluation. According to law enforcement sources, LAPD responded to a medical welfare call about 1:20 p.m. Paramedics ended up transporting Kanye to the hospital by ambulance. He reportedly resisted and had to be restrained when transported.
He was reportedly being examined by one of his doctors for severe sleep deprivation when it was determined that he needed to be admitted. The decision to hospitalize West was for his own health and safety, added the sources. No criminal activity was suspected.
West has been dealing with trauma for years now. Let’s not forget the tragic car accident that he was involved in that almost took his life. He managed to escape the wreckage with some broken bones and a broken jaw. Several years later he lost his most prized possession since his children and Kim, his beloved mother Donda West. Even recently dealing with the robbery of his wife and media frenzy that ensued. This man needs medical attention he has been through a lot. It’s not the time to bash and harass but to lift him up and pray for a clearly broken person.
Prince’s record company is suing Jay Z’s Roc Nation copyright infringement, saying it illegally offered the late musician’s songs on its music streaming service, according to court records.
The lawsuit filed in the United States District Court in Minnesota on Tuesday by NPG Records, claims Jay Z’s Roc Nation illegally offered such Prince hits as “If I Was Your Girlfriend” and “1999” on its subscription-based streaming service, Tidal.
“Roc Nation, through its Tidal service, is exploiting many copyrighted Prince works,” according to the lawsuit.
While Tidal was authorized to offer some Prince songs to its customers, the service expanded the number around the time of the musician’s death on June 7 without approval from the Prince estate trust, it claims.
Roc Nation was not immediately available for comment on the lawsuit, which seeks undisclosed damages.
Now that the people have spoken and have chosen their leader as Donald Trump, one side is excited about the new direction of the country and others are disappointed, heartbroken and trying to figure it all out. It seems like we as a people have worked so hard to get to where we are to feel like we are taking further steps behind. Whatever the case, only time will tell how everything plays out. Many have their theories and will try and justify whatever makes sense to them. However, the most important thing we can do is educate ourselves and understand the country in which we reside.
Start with understanding the Electoral Vote.
Check out the video below of Van Jones speaking about the “White Lash,” the country has received:
You would think the feud between rappers the Game and Meek Mill would have subsided by now; however Game continues to add fuel to the fire as he releases a visual to the Meek diss “Pest Control,” which was filmed in Baltimore.
The Game made an appearance on the Wendy Williams show to discuss an array of topics. He opened up about his Meek Mill beef and alleged sexcapades with “three Kardashians.”
Even though I do not agree with how Game is handling his beef with Meek Mill, he still is entertaining; however a bit clownish!!!
Watch the interview and see highlights from the Q&A below.
ON MEEK MILL: “It’s just a little hip-hop beef…We haven’t had a fight yet. It’s not a fight. It’s just hip-hop…It comes down to a point where, you’ve gotta deal with it as it comes. I feel like I was violated.”
ON PEACE VS. BEEF: “Nobody’s perfect. We all have days where we’re at fault and we make mistakes. Some days are good. Some days are bad. You’ve got to take them all together.”
ON 50 CENT: “We were in a strip club in L.A. and I just stepped to him. We talked for about 15 minutes and we kind of hashed it out. We left on good terms…It’s over now.”
ON “POWER”: “I watch ‘Power.’ I definitely would [act in the series]. I like ‘Power.’ It’s a good show.”
ON 1992: “1992 was the first year that I joined a gang. At that point in my life, I was getting pulled in both directions. I grew up in a Crip neighborhood but my brothers were Bloods. It was sort of a tug-of-war. That’s how it is in Compton. Once you get close to your teenage years, gangs start pulling at you. It’s almost 99 percent that you’ll probably join a gang.”
ON SEX WITH THREE KARDASHIANS: “It was three [Kardashians]. It gets a little tricky. [Black] Chyna ain’t married yet…But it’s all good if it’s facts. And she cool too.”
ON SEX WITH KIM KARDASHIAN: “I’ll tell you this. Kanye is a really good friend of mine and they’ve got really beautiful kids and I don’t want to disrespect their family.”
ON SEX WITH KHLOE KARDASHIAN: “Sometimes it gets late at night and people…I don’t know.”
ON SEX WITH KOURTNEY KARDASHIAN: “No.”
ON SEX WITH KRIS JENNER: “Nah. Kris Jenner’s cool.”
