Washington’s parents, Earl and Valerie, signed the certificate as witnesses, and the groom’s sister, Chisaraokwu Asomugha—a minister in Silver Spring, Md.—officiated.

With Magna Carta Holy Grail finally here on all Samsung Galaxys (and elsewhere), Jay-Z’s Life + Times gives us an exclusive listen of the album’s opening number, the Justin Timberlake-featured “Holy Grail” helmed by The-Dream and Timbaland.
“Get Familiar” was an independent video shot by Chris Hall as part of his skateboarding series. Back then up and coming skateboard sensation Darren Harper was taking the skateboarding world by storm with comparisons to Stevie Williams and TK. Darren brought a rawness and hip-hop swag to his flourishing style. I was more than honored when he wanted to use one of my songs “Dangerous Lives” during his segment of the video. It was cool because the way Chris shot it was like a video. We shot our portion on U street behind Ben’s Chilli Bowl and the rest is history. Check out my man Darren doing his thing on the skateboard with his pop flip tricks.
On the eve of his album release, Jay-Z has unveiled the cover for Magna Carta Holy Grail. As part of his “New Rules,” he debuted it in grand fashion at Salisbury Cathedral in the U.K., home to one of the four surviving original 1215 Magna Carta documents.
The installation will be on display at the Salisbury Cathedral Chapter House through July. Tomorrow, July 4, the first million Samsung Mobile users who download the Magna Carta app will receive the album for free. It will be available to the rest of the world on July 9.

Gabrielle Union mentioned on “Oprah’s Next Chapter” that she auditioned for the role of Olivia Pope on ABC’s “Scandal,” which of course went to Kerry Washington.
While promoting tonight’s premiere of her BET series “Being Mary Jane,” the actress spoke to the Associated Press about losing the role, and how the Olivia Pope character gave her hope that more strong, likeable black female TV leads were being written.
“I said to myself, ‘Oh my God, these roles are out there,’” Union said. “It showed me that you don’t have to settle. Luckily, the success of her and the show bred more work. Just from the audition process, I knew that I couldn’t go backward.”
“Being Mary Jane” premiered last night as a two-hour movie and will return in January for an eight-episode run. Union stars as Mary Jane, a TV news anchor who struggles to balance work, her love life and her family, and represents a very different direction from, as she puts it, her usual “good girl who meets the bad guy from the other side of the tracks” characters.
“If you loved me for one thing and may not have liked me in something else, this role gives the audience a chance to see that I can do more than one thing,” said Union.
“I didn’t get Scandal, but I got something better — which is my own show,” Union said. “It’s all about building a legacy. This new opportunity is something I feel that can grow.”
