“Underground” Creator Announces that the Groundbreaking Series Will Not Continue…Ever

If you were a fan of the hit series “Underground,” well sad news below. The show creator, Misha Green has confirmed the show still has not been picked up by another network since the WGN network did not renew the period series.

“Underground,” which told the story of the Macon 7, who were runaway slaves on their quest to freedom; was a story of triumph and resilience. A story about slavery that still needs to be told and heard. Of course a network would choose not to pick it back up. Yes, I understand that period pieces are often more expensive to film considering costumes, set design and other expenses to create such a period in time. But there are enough resources out here to pull together and make it happen if people really wanted to. 

John Legend, one of the executive producers even sought out Oprah and her OWN network to help fund the continuation. However, they cited not have the funds due to their own big production of “Queen Sugar.”

Hopefully, someone will see the importance of “Underground,” and quickly get it back into production. In the meantime take a look at the message Misha Green posted:

Ludacris to Host “Fear Factor” Reboot

Ludacris has teamed with MTV  to recreate their very own version of the popular series “Fear Factor.”

The show will be a 12-episode reboot, hosted and executive produced by Luda.

In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, he said, “I am excited to kick off my partnership with MTV, starting with the relaunch of ‘Fear Factor,’ which will be even more insane and ludicrous than what you remember.”  “This will be the first of many great projects together.”

“MTV is about celebrating youth culture, and with the reinvented ‘Fear Factor,’ we are putting the power in our audience’s hands to face and overcome their biggest fears,” said MTV president Chris McCarthy. “We are thrilled to partner with Ludacris, one of the biggest global stars who has a rich history with MTV, to energize this franchise for a whole new generation.”

Ludacris also returns to the big screen as part of The Fate of the Furious.

“Insecure” Season 2 Sets Premiere Date

Last year, HBO secured a runaway hit with new series “Insecure,” featuring up and coming talented actress Issa Rae from the hit Youtube series, “Awkward Black Girl.”  Insecure was rated as one of the top new shows last year.  With all of its success, Issa revealed that the new season will start on July 23rd.

Larenz Tate Cast on Power

Actor Larenz Tate is cast in a recurring role on the Starz hit series Power.

According to reports Larenz Tate has been cast as a city councilman from Jamaica Queens on season 4 of Power.

“Power” Season 4 is expected to air in summer 2017.

Nas Bio Series in the Works

With the hugely successful ratings that BET received this past week for the New Edition series. BET has now green lit a project based on Nas.

According to reports BET has ordered a pilot for ‘Street Dreams’ an hour-long scripted project executive produced by Nas and based on his life in New York in the early 90s.

No word has been given yet on any casting ideas.

GIANTS Fans Blame Odell Beckham Jr. and Other Players for Partying Too Much Before Playoff Game

After winning against the Redskins, some Giants players including Odell Beckham Jr. and Victor Cruz headed to Miami to sail along with Trey Songz on his yacht.

The players could be seen having it up on the yacht, posting the day’s festivities on Snapchat and other social media.  However, did all that fun in the sun cost them their playoff chances against Green Bay?  Well fans surely seem to think so and are letting Odell and Trey have it!!

Biggie Smalls Tupac Shakur Mystery Series Headed to TV

The USA Network is producing a scripted series about the unsolved murders of Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur.

According to reports USA just greenlit a series called Unsolved, chronicling the police investigations into the deaths of rap rivals Biggie Smalls and Tupac Shakur.

The series pilot is being directed and executive produced by ‘The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story’ director/ producer Anthony Hemingway.
