Nas to Produce Erykah Badu’s Film “The Land”

 

 

Hip Hop Legend, Nas is taking on an off-screen role in Erykah Badu’s indie drama called ‘The Land’, which he is set to executive produce. He is also said to be producing  film’s soundtrack.

According to Variety, The Land, which will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in January, was written and directed by Steven Caple Jr. and Lizzie Friedman.

The Land follows four teenage boys who escape the streets of Cleveland to pursue professional skateboarding, but they get caught in the web of a local drug queen-pin (Badu).

In addition to Badu, the cast includes Machine Gun Kelly, Michael K. Williams, and Moises Arias.

New Music: Lil’ Kim – “That Bitch”

Lil Kim is back with a new jawn called “That Bitch.”  She takes on Omarion’s “I’m Up” featuring Kid Ink and French Montana.

Kim recently told  Hot 97 about her upcoming album, which she plans to release in 2016. “I’m working on a new album for next year. I put up a post not too long ago, I was at my old record label, so maybe. I’ve got a couple tours that I’m going to be a part of.”

Boosie Is Now Cancer Free!!

Boosie is cancer free.  On Tuesday morning (Dec. 8), he underwent surgery at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and it was a success. “I want to thank each and everyone for all the support and love! Surgery went well..God is good! Next step recovery!” said Boosie via Instagram, “Cancer has been removed from Boosie kidney.”

Future Announces ‘The Purple Reign’ Tour

Future has announced the “Purple Reign” tour with opening act Ty Dolla $ign. The 22-date trek kicks off on Feb. 17 at the Orpheum Theatre in Madison, Wis., making stops at New York City’s Hammerstein Ballroom, Atlanta’s Tabernacle, The Fillmore, here in DC and Los Angeles’ Hollywood Palladium.

Future released his solo album DS2 and his collaborative LP with Drake, What a Time to Be Alive, both of which topped the Billboard 200.

Tickets will be available for pre-sale starting Dec. 10 at 10 a.m. on Freebandz.com.

Nicki Minaj Arrested for Rape of 12 Year Old Minor


Rapper Nicki Minaj’s brother accused of raping a 12-year-old child.  The brother of award-winning singer and rapper Nicki Minaj has been charged in Nassau with raping a child, according to a source with knowledge of the case.

Jelani Maraj, 37, of Baldwin, was arraigned Thursday on first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, according to online court and jail records. The child is 12, according to the source.

Bail was set at $100,000, said the Nassau district attorney’s office, which declined to comment on the case, including the circumstances of the case, the age of the child and how the matter came to authorities’ attention.

Maraj was released on bail Thursday from the Nassau County jail in East Meadow, authorities there said.

J. Cole is Bringing Forest Hills Drive 2014 to HBO

J. Cole is bringing his sold-out concert to HBO“J. Cole Forest Hills Drive: Homecoming” debuts Saturday, Jan. 9, at 10 p.m. The 90-minute special, described as part concert film, part backstage pass, tells his compelling life story through his own words and music, and through the observations of those who know him best.

Cole will perform all 13 songs from his third album, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, with special appearances by Jay Z and Drake, who joined him on stage during his show at Crown Coliseum in Fayetteville, North Carolina back  in August.

Bobby Shmurda Denied Bail Again!

Bobby Shmurda will remain behind bars after being denied bail for the sixth time.

Earlier this week, it was reported that his attorneys put together a “bulletproof” plan to post his $2 million bond. As part of the bail package, his aunt offered four real estate properties as collateral.

However, Judge James Burke rejected the package in a sealed proceeding on Thursday (Dec. 3). Now his legal team will have to go back to the drawing board.

The  rapper has been in jail for nearly a year for conspiracy to commit murder, multiple weapons possession, and reckless endangerment.

His next court date is set for Jan. 11.

Chris Brown Refusing to Cooperate with Cops

Earlier this year Chris Brown was the victim of a home invasion that many believed was an inside job.  Now comes word Chris is refusing to cooperate with detectives trying to solve the case.

According to TMZ the investigation into Chris Brown’s home invasion has stalled because Chris is refusing to answer questions or provide detectives with a list of things that were taken during the robbery.

Meanwhile the only lead are a set of fingerprints taken from an item the robbers dropped outside Chris’ house.
