Earlier this week comedian Steve Harvey raised eyebrows after meeting with president-elect Donald Trump at Trump Tower in New York and agreeing to work with Dr. Ben Carson at the department of Housing and Urban Development.

Steve now admits he was surprised and hurt by the severe backlash.

In his first radio show since his meeting with Trump Steve admits,

“On a personal note, lot of y’all hurt me. I didn’t expect the backlash to be so fierce. I also understand if I’m going to keep getting stabbed at, at least while you’re stabbing me, you should understand my intent.”

“I’m from the hood. I’ve been putting in the work for years. I care about these inner cities because that’s where I’m from.”

“But I’m also very aware of the anger that so many people feel. And these voices will continue to be heard and they should. If we sit at the table, then we can have a say-so.”

“When I walked away, (I felt) there might be a real chance for some positive to come out of what many feel is doom and gloom.”

Taxstone, host of the popular “Tax Season” podcast, was arrested in connection with the rapper, Troy Ave shooting at a T.I. concert at New York’s Irving Plaza last year.

According to the New York Daily News,  Tax was scheduled to appear in court on a weapons possession charge on Tuesday and has been under investigation for his alleged involvement in the May shooting.

“He will be arraigned tomorrow,” said Taxstone’s lawyer, Ken Montgomery. “We look forward to reading the complaint from the government.”

According to the Daily News, he served 18 months for weapons and robbery charges in the past. He also returned to jail in 2010 and 2012 for additional time due to parole violations. Tax often speaks about his time in jail on his “Tax Season” podcast, which boasts a 5-star rating on iTunes.

Troy Ave is currently out on $500,000 bond following the May shooting at Irving Plaza where he says he was shot and where his bodyguard, Ronald McPhatter, was killed. Troy’s legal team claims he somehow took the gun away from the shooter and fired back in self-defense.

Troy’s lawyer Scott Leemon issued a statement on the matter, though he would not identify anyone as the shooter at this time. “As I told you day one, Troy was a victim,” Leemon explained. “[Troy] was shot by someone else and his friend and bodyguard died a hero.”

It was bound to happen sooner than later, with biopics already in the can for Aaliyah and Whitney Houston, Lifetime has announced plans to release one for Michael Jackson. Thus far the working title is Michael Jackson: Searching for Neverland.

On Friday,  the U.K.’s Sky channel axed it’s plans for their upcoming “Urban Myths” episode that was set to feature MJ, Elizabeth Taylor, and Marlon Brando. The cancelation comes after critics, including Jackson’s daughter Paris, bashed actor Joseph Fiennes’ portrayal of the icon in the movie’s trailer.

Searching for Neverland is based on Bill Whitefield’s book Remember the Time: Protecting Michael Jackson in his Final Days.

Production is set to begin next month in L.A.
