Gabrielle Union’s Says Homewrecker Rep Hurt Her Career

Rumors have persisted for years that Gabrielle Union was instrumental in Dwyane Wade’s divorce from his wife Siohvaughn and Gabby says the rumors have hurt her career.

In a recent interview with T.T. Torez Gabby admits,

“It’s hard because, aside from loving him, I want to protect myself. I’ve built my life. I built my own brand. I built my career and my career took a hit from that madness because some people refuse to see the truth, even when it’s presented to them time and time again. I love him but at some point it’s about self preservation.”

“I pay for my family. I pay for my mommy and my daddy and my sisters and her family. ‘D’ doesn’t write those checks, I do, so when something is starting to affect the way I make a living, ‘no no no baby,’ let me figure out a way for me to protect our home that me and Dwyane have with the kids.”

Rihanna Sues Accountants For Lost Millions

Rihanna is gunning for her old accountants. She has filed suit against them – accusing them of “shoddy bookkeeping, a failure to recommend she trim expenses when a 2009 tour was losing money and an ongoing audit by the Internal Revenue Service.”

More from the AP:

The lawsuit in federal court in Manhattan sought unspecified damages against New York-based Berdon LLP and two accountants. A Berdon spokeswoman said the company had no immediate comment.

The singer, suing under her real name, Robyn Fenty, alleged through her attorneys that the defendants drained tens of millions of dollars from revenues while she launched four national and international tours over a five-year period.

By the “Last Girl on Earth” tour in 2009, Rihanna learned that the tour had managed “significant net losses” despite robust revenues, though the defendants had managed to pocket 22 percent of the tour’s total revenues while paying Rihanna just 6 percent of revenues, the lawsuit said. It said Berdon’s unusual accounting practice of paying itself a percentage of gross tour income as commissions left it no incentive to “counsel” Rihanna to reduce expenses or put in place appropriate financial controls.

The lawsuit alleged that the practice of paying itself commissions on revenues was not standard in the accounting and business management industry and created a clear conflict of interest.

Rihanna’s lawyers also blamed the accounting firm for an ongoing IRS audit of her tax returns, saying she was forced to spend significant resources to correct errors resulting from negligence.

Since firing the firm and its accountants in September 2010, Rihanna’s fortunes already have reversed, the lawsuit said. The “Loud” tour stretching from June 2011 to December 2011 produced a net profit equal to more than 40 percent of total tour revenues, it added.

According to the lawsuit, the singer hired the accountants in 2005 when she was a 16-year-old from Barbados launching her career. She alleged that they repeatedly breached their agreements, engaged in misconduct and malfeasance, paid themselves excessive commissions, created entities without regard to their effect on her taxes and failed to document revenue and expenses and implement a proper budget.

Joseline Hernandez denies ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ party fight and injuries with picture on Twitter.

Last night at the club a fan tells Freddyo that she attempted to questions Joseline about her decision,

“My friend asked her Joseline “why would you get rid of the baby her and stevie J” had made…She then brushed my friend off so my friend hit her.”

Still waiting for the reason for the attack. The friend continued,  “I mean, you can’t just brush people off in the club and think it’s cool. Now she’s telling people that my friend hit her with a bottle and that’s not true.”

Joseline posted the above picture on Twitter and the below text,

“Face smooth like a baby. Once again MTO is always getting false statements I should take y’all to court for lying lol,” says Joseline. “I don’t have to b on this fake a** s**t all day. Is not real… find u a JOB or do something with your lives.”

Diamond And Soulja Boy Address “Love And Hip Hop: Atlanta”

Diamond appeared on the red carpet of the BET Awards with ex-boyfriend, Soulja Boy. If you recall, on Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta Lil’ Scrappy and more importantly, his mother, Momma Dee, made it quite clear that Diamond ditched Scrappy for Soulja Boy. And well, after Soulja Boy broke it off with her, she ran right back to Scrappy.

Needless to say, Momma Dee is none too pleased with the ex-Crime Mob member.

MTV News caught up with Diamond to get her feedback:

“I wish everybody the best. I feel like only one person can judge me, and that’s God. That’s my past. I’m in the future right now, and I wish everybody the best.”

Soulja Boy quipped:

“This is my baby, this is my girl, so anything said about her is basically they’re saying it about me. I’m backin’ her 100 percent, and we’re just focusing on the positive. Anybody talkin’ about her name on TV, that’s just bringin’ us up more. So salute to them, we wish them the best.”

Frank Ocean Opens Up About His Bi-Sexuality

Earlier this week, rumors emerged that some lyrics on Frank Ocean’s upcoming Channel Orange indicate his bisexuality. While no lyrics have been cited, it appeared to be likely that this whole affair has been created by the creative imagination of the digital sphere. However, Frank took things to his Tumblr to comment on this subject matter and published a screenshot of a text document written on a computer. The document is titled “thank you’s,” and was written in December of 2011 while Frank was on a plane from New Orleans to Los Angeles. Written in an open letter style, the note recounts his story of meeting a guy a few years ago and falling in love with him, labelling him his as his “first love.”

Whoever you are, wherever you are… I’m starting to think we are a lot alike. Human beings spinning on blackness. All wanting to be seen, touched, heard, paid attention to. My loved ones are everything to me here. In the last year or 3, I’ve screamed at my creator. Screamed at clouds in the sky. For some explanation. Mercy maybe.  For peace of mind to rain like manna somehow. 4 Summers ago, I met somebody.  I was 19 years old. He was too.  We spent that Summer and the Summer after, together.  Everyday almost.  And on the days we were together, time would glide.  Most of the day I’d see him, and his smile.  I’d hear his conversation and his silence.. Until it was time to sleep.  Sleep I would often share with him.  By the time I realized I was in love, it was malignant. It was hopeless. There was no escaping.  No negotiating with the feeling. No choice. It was my first love.  It changed my life.  Back then, my mind would wander to the women I had been with.  The ones I cared for and thought I was in love with.   I reminisced about the sentimental songs I enjoyed when I was a teenager.  The ones I played when I experienced a girl too quickly.  Imagine being thrown from a plane.  I wasn’t in a plane though.  I was in a Nissan Maxima.  The same car I packed up with bags and drove to Los Angeles in.  I sat there and told my friend how I felt.  I wept as the words left my mouth.  I grieved for them, know I could never take them back for myself.  He patted my back.  He said kind things.  He did his best, but he wouldn’t admit the same.  He had to go back inside soon. I was late and his girlfriend was waiting for him upstairs.  He wouldn’t tell me the truth about his feelings for me for another 3 years.  I felt like I’d only imagined reciprocity for years.  Now imagine being thrown from a cliff.  No. I wasn’t on a cliff. I was still in my car telling myself it was gonna be fine and to take deep breaths.  I took the breaths and carried on.  I kept up a peculiar friendship with him because I couldn’t imagine keeping up my life without him.  I struggled to master myself and my emotions.  I wasn’t always successful.

The dance went on.. I kept the rhythm for several Summers after.  It’s Winter now.  I’m typing this on a plane back to Los Angeles from New Orleans.  I flew home for another marred Christmas.  I have a windowseat.  It’s December 27, 2011.  By now, I’ve written two albums.  This being the second.  I wrote to keep myself busy and sane.  I wanted to create worlds that were rosier than mine. I tried to channel overwhelming emotions.  I’m surprised at how far all of it has taken me.   Before writing this, I’d told some people my story. I’m sure these people kept me alive.  Kept me safe… sincerely.  These are the folks I wanna thank from the floor of my heart.  Everyone of you knows who you are.. Great humans.  Probably angels.  I don’t know what happens now, and that’s alright.  I don’t have any secrets I need kept anymore.  There’s probably some small shit still, but you know what I mean.  I was never alone, as much as I felt like it..As much as I still do sometimes.  I never was. I don’t think I ever could be.  Thanks.  To my first love, I’m grateful for you.  Grateful that even though it wasn’t what I had hoped for and even though it was never enough, it was.  Some things never are…And we were.  I won’t forget you.  I won’t forget the Summer..I’ll remember who I was when I met you.  I’ll remember who you were and how we both changed and stayed the same.  I’ve never had more respect for life and living than I have right now.  Maybe it takes a near death experience to feel alive.  Thanks.  To my mother, you raised me strong.  I know I’m only brave because you were first…So thank you.  All of you.  For everything good.  I feel like a free man.  If I listen closely, I can hear the sky falling too.

Fantasia Breaks Down at Birthday Concert

An emotional Fantasia Barrino broke down in tears in front of hundreds of adoring fans during her performance at the Truth Is concert staged at the Ambassador Hotel, Port-of-Spain, on Saturday night. Allowing the tears to flow freely, the Grammy Award and 2004 American Idol winner had the crowd awestruck, as she cried while delivering her hit song Even Angels, from her third album Back To Me.

The star who was in Trinidad to celebrate her 28th birthday told fans she had been through many obstacles in her life but had emerged stronger with the help of God. “No matter what you’ve been through, know that you can fly. I have to tell God thank you because he has blessed me. Just when I thought it was all over, he kept blessing me,” said Fantasia. “He’s always been there. I made it through because of God…Everything I went through is my testimony.”

Noting that the music industry is “very snakish,” Fantasia said it got very tough sometimes, as she had to deal with a lot of negativity during her career. She said, “This year, we lost Whitney Houston…They just wouldn’t leave her alone. They did not understand that she was only human. We lose family, friends, all for the love of money. The only person who will never leave you is Jesus.”

Mindless Behavior Apologizes for Lauryn Hill Joke at BET Awards

One of the most talked-about-moments of the BET Awards occurred when Mindless Behavior hit the stage. The teen group was presenting the award for Best Female R&B Artist to Beyoncé when one member made a joke about Lauryn Hill

“You sing bad…like Lauryn Hill’s tax accountant bad,” quipped Ray Ray in response to comedian Mike Epps’ attempt at singing. The joke, which poked fun at Hill’s recent tax problems, was poorly received by some in the audience and ignited a firestorm on Twitter.

According to TMZ, Beyoncé was not too pleased with the joke. She made a point to acknowledge the Fugees frontwoman during her speech and reportedly told a handler backstage that the remark was “disrespectful” and “not cool.”

During a phone call on “106 & Park” on Monday, Ray Ray apologized for his words. “I want to apologize about the Lauryn Hill joke,” he said. “I didn’t mean no harm by it. I hope everyone can forgive me. It was like a big thing on Twitter and everything, so I truly apologize. I respect Lauryn Hill and all of them like that.”

The group also took to Twitter to offer their apologies. “We meant no disrespect to our girl Lauryn Hill last night, it was a bad joke. We’re big fans and hope you’re not mad!” they tweeted.

Lauryn Hill Pleads Guilty to Tax Evasion, Faces Prison Time

Lauryn Hill is facing three years behind bars after pleading guilty to tax evasion.  According to TMZ, the Fugees frontwoman told a judge on Friday that she intentionally failed to file tax returns from 2005, 2006, and 2007, when she earned more than $1.8 million.  In addition to prison time, she could be hit with a $75,000 fine.

When the judge asked Hill if she “intentionally and willingly” failed to file the returns, she replied, “Yes.”  She was released on $150,000 bail and will be sentenced in November.

In a previous letter posted online, Hill defended her actions, claiming to have removed herself and her family from society during those three years in order to “keep them safe, healthy, and free from danger.”

“For the past several years, I have remained what others would consider underground,” she wrote.  “I kept my life relatively simple, even after huge successes, but it became increasingly obvious that certain indulgences and privileges were expected to come at the expense of my free soul, free mind, and therefore my health and integrity.”

Jimmy Henchman Lawyers Vehemently Deny Involvement In Tupac Shooting

Lawyers for James “Jimmy Henchman” Rosemond have issued a statement vehemently denying his involvement in the 1994 shooting of Tupac Shakur.

Recent reports have circulated since an article was published in The Village Voice on June 14th.
The article, written by Henchman’s nemesis Chuck Philips, claimed that Rosemond admitted shooting the rap star at Quad Studios, during one of nine meetings with the government.

According to a statement by James Rosemond’s defense attorney Gerald Shargel, Rosemond has never admitted to being involved in the shooting and vehemently denies the charges levied against him.

“During a 2011 interview Jimmy Rosemond was asked by prosecutors whether he participated in the robbery/shooting of Tupac Shakur. He categorically denied any participation,” a rep for Gerald Shargel told Associated Press in a statement.

“He has never admitted to involvement in that event,” read the statement, which said Shargel and an associate were at the interview.

“There never was an admission to the assault,” the rep said.

James Rosemond’s publicist questioned the accuracy of Chuck Philips’ reporting in The Village Voice.

“Jimmy Rosemond had absolutely nothing to do with it. All of this stems from the Village Voice-Chuck Philips article but where are the copies of his ‘so-called’ confession?” Rosemond’s publicist Sibrena Stowe de Fernandez told AP.

“There are none because its false information and why are we paying attention to a reporter who is trying to rebuild his career off of the Jimmy’s name? Philips has sent me and Jimmy hate mail. He [Philips] obviously has a vendetta against Jimmy since he [Chuck Philips] was let go, fired or whatever from L.A. Times.

“Folks need to stop promoting Hip-Hop violence and lets enjoy music and the business of music,” Sibrena Stowe de Fernandez said.

“Chuck Philips should focus on becoming a credible journalist and stop trying to get famous due to sensationalizing lies,” Sibrena Stowe de Fernandez continued.

“Whatever happened to fact checking and not hearsay as journalists? If readers were street smart, they’d see through this BS but hey, maybe folks are missing common sense. I know we’re done addressing this issue unless another issue arises.”

Tony Parker To Sue For $20 Million Over Chris Brown x Drake Club Fight

Tony Parker just so happened to be at W.I.P. night club in New York the same night that Drake and Chris Brown had their infamous altercation and bottles started to fly.   Mr. Parker happened to be a victim of one of the flying bottles and now he’s ready to file a lawsuit over the injuries he sustained himself.

The NBA player is suing the club and its operators for $20 million after suffering from a scratched cornea. While many are asking why such a large sum, I can certainly say that his career is pretty dependent on his eyesight, so to have anything go wrong in the realm of vision could affect him for the rest of his life.

His argument states, “ ‘There was bad blood between Drake and Chris Brown” and that the club made matters worse ‘by serving them and their entourage’s alcohol.’ ”
