The Chris Robinson-directed clip is visualized through the eyes of his 17-year-old daughter Destiny Jones—from her third birthday party to her high school years to getting into trouble with boys.
“I think that this song for Nas is so personal, everything in the song is real, that he wanted to share this moment with his fans, with the world, and it was actually his suggestion,” Robinson told MTV News. “I was ready to cast someone, and he was real calm and said, ‘Hey, Dest is gonna be here, I think we need to keep it real.’”

Shimmering in a fringe dress, she kicked things off with “End of Time” before delving into her catalog of solo hits and Destiny’s Child classics, not missing a step as she performed against a giant LED wall with a full band and dancers including French duo Les Twins. She changed five times during the two-hour set with “modern showgirl”-inspired looks, including a black and silver pinstripe vest and Swarovski-studded red bandage dress, all custom designed by Ralph & Russo. In addition to her own material, Beyoncé covered Lauryn Hill’s “Ex-Factor” and paid tribute to Donna Summer during “Naughty Girl,” which samples the late disco queen’s “Love to Love You Baby.” With just a spotlight on her, she sang her idol Whitney Houston’s classic “I Will Always Love You,” before transitioning into “Halo.” The sold-out show came to a triumphant close with her 2008 single “Single Ladies (Put a Ring On It).” “I’m tryna become Sasha Fierce again,” said the 30-year-old superstar during rehearsals. “She’s dead, but I need to bring her back to life.”

The pop starlet shows off her fancy footwork and beautifulness in the dance-heavy clip, directed by Dave Meyers (Missy Elliott, Janet Jackson).
“This one is just all performance. It’s all about evoking an emotion through your body,” said RiRi. “I was never gonna shoot this video if I couldn’t do choreography ’cause it would be pretty pointless. It would be disappointing.”
The wait is over. After several delays, Nicki Minaj finally debuts the futuristic video for “Starships,” the RedOne-produced single off her sophomore album Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Her Minajesty shot the sexy scenes on the beaches of Hawaii with director Anthony Mandler in March.
J. Cole gets off the bench and into the video for “Sideline Story,” a standout cut off his debut album Cole World: The Sideline Story. From Abu Dhabi to Copenhagen, the Roc Nation rapper treks around the globe in the clip, which documents his 2011 international tour. Cole will kick off his 17-date “Campus Consciousness” tour with Big K.R.I.T. today in Kingston, Rhode Island.
Drake drops the long-awaited video for “Take Care.” The Canadian star cozies up to Rihanna in the abstract clip directed by Yoann Lemoine.
“It had to go through a process—I shot it with a director who’s incredible and we were just very specific about it,” Drake told Capital FM. “It’s a big record and a lot of footage. It’s very artistic very abstract video—something that I wasn’t used to. I’m usually sued to a very straight forward concept so I’m really excited for people to see it because it’s actually just something beautiful to look at.”
Whitney Houston’s mother is speaking out for the first time since her daughter’s death in February. Cissy Houston shared her love, grief, and anger with Newark’s My9 TV at New Hope Baptist Church, the same place where her daughter’s funeral was held just weeks earlier.
“I’m OK. I have my moments. I’m not there yet,” said the grieving mother. “I don’t think I’m any more courageous than anyone else. I haven’t gotten angry yet. I don’t like getting angry.”
