Carmelo Anthony Suspended 1 Game For Confrontation With Kevin Garnett (Video of Confrontation)

The NBA has suspended Carmelo Anthony the Knicks forward for one game without pay for “confronting” Kevin Garnett in Madison Square Garden after Monday night’s (January 7) game against the Boston Celtics.

“There are no circumstances in which it is acceptable for a player to confront an opponent after a game,” said Stu Jackson, NBA Executive Vice President Basketball Operations, in a statement. “Carmelo Anthony attempted to engage with Kevin Garnett multiple times after Monday’s game and therefore a suspension was warranted.”

The NBA contends that Melo attempted to confront KG in the tunnel, near the player’s locker room and in the parking lot. Yesterday, Anthony told reporters he didn’t do anything that warranted a suspension.

However, this morning, footage of Anthony and Garnett arguing loudly near the Celtics’ team bus was revealed (see below). Clearly the two players would have been doing more than just talking if their entourages and security had not been on hand.

Beyoncé aims to reach 1 billion people on one day with one message of hope with the video for “I Was Here,” dedicated to World Humanitarian Day. The pop powerhouse has teamed up with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations to launch a global campaign to celebrate humanitarian work and encourage people worldwide to get involved by helping others on August 19. Beyoncé filmed the visuals in front of a live audience at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York earlier this month.

“It says, ‘I want to leave my footprints in the sands of time’ and it basically is all of our dreams,” B told Anderson Cooper of the Diane Warren-penned ballad off her latest album 4. “And that’s leaving our mark on the world. I feel like we all want to know that our life meant something.”

The video was helmed by production company Ridley Scott & Associates and directors Kenzo Digital and Sophie Muller (“Ring the Alarm,” “Deja Vu”).
