ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!!!

I just would like to thank everyone who has viewed, read, or stumbled across my Dreblacksofresh.com blogsite.  When I initially started this site a year ago, it definitely was something to do for leisure to express my artistic/editorial side.  It has been a blast!! I have been neglecting my baby for a few months because I have been so busy with school (Howard University Grad student representer), but I have to keep it up to date for the fans I’ve acquired.  My site has been viewed over 350, 000 times.  Not bad for a newcomer!! I would love to reach 1 million by next year or before.  Please continue to check the site for the latest news, fashion, and entertainment!!!  PEACE

Kelly Rowland Bares All for VIBE Magazine

Kelly Rowland is definitely on the right path to success, unlike never before.  She is finally getting the props and recognition she deserves.  She recently opened up about a number of issues in the new Vibe Magazine hitting shelves within the coming weeks.  Check out some excerpts below:

→ ON BEING MORE APPRECIATED IN EUROPE VS. HOME

VIBE: The last album didn’t do well in the States. It did better overseas, particularly in Europe. Do you feel more appreciated in Europe?
Kelly Rowland: No, not really. People still compare me to B over there. I said in an interview recently, ‘You know, if you guys would be a little bit more intelligent and ask me about myself we’ll have a much better interview.’ You can’t want a story from me and keep asking me about the past.

→ ON HER COMPLICATED RELATIONSHIP WITH MATTHEW KNOWLES

When you walked away from that last meeting with Mathew, did you feel an “exhale” moment?
I did, but I also felt like, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?!’ I stayed in the house for two days. I was sad. It was like a funeral. I had to deaden that situation in order to start fresh. That’s a very long time to have the same manager and the same label.

What about your personal relationship with Mathew Knowles. Do you still talk to him?
Mathew sent me flowers for my birthday!

But do you talk to him?
It’s… I respect him above anything.

→ ON HER SEDUCTIVE SIDE & VISITING SEX SHOPS

Speaking of this road we’re going on… Let’s talk about the song “Motivation.” I have to admit, the song went completely over my head. I thought you were talking about working out.
[Laughs] No, honey.

When you heard the song, did you think, This may be too racy for my image?
Not at all. Every woman knows what that feels like—hopefully. But everyone doesn’t expect Kelly to sing about it. This is true. But I just loved the song so much. And yes, I can relate to it. I came into my sexuality while I was recording this album. I can walk into a sex shop now and not worry about what people would say if they saw me in there.

You really do that? Go to sex shops?
Yeah! With friends on the low. I go at the right time. Nighttime. 1 a.m. The really good ones are open that late.

WOULD AALIYAH AND BEYONCE BE NECK TO NECK IF SHE WAS STILL LIVING?? GINUWINE THINKS SO…..

Aaliyah was in a class by herself,” Ginuwine tells The BoomBox. “If you’re talking triple threat of a writer, singer and actress, that would probably be Beyoncé. If Aaliyah were still here, she and Beyoncé would be neck and neck.”

I would have to agree with that I’ve had many conversations about this!!

MEAGAN GOOD PRODUCES AND STARS IN NEW MOVIE ‘VIDEO GIRL’

Actress, Meagan Good will take a turn behind the cameras, producing and starring in “Video Girl,” a film about the life of a “video girl”. The film will star such highly esteemed video stars such as Melyssa Ford and Esther Baxter plus Hollywood socialites like Claudia Jordan. It will open April 29th in limited theaters. Last year, Meagan told VIBE. com about the project:

“I just produced a film that should be out by the end of the year called Video Girl. It’s very much like Gia––the HBO film Angelina Jolie did for HBO. It’s not the Karrine Steffans story. It’s about a very unassuming girl from a small town who used to be a professional dancer until she gets a knee injury. So she’s in a place where she’s trying to figure out what she wants to do professionally. She gets hooked into the video-modeling world, develops a drug habit and really gets caught up in the limelight.”
