Jazmine Sullivan Announces Departure From Music

Jazmine Sullivan made a shocking announcement on Twitter today. The R&B singer revealed to thousands of fans that she intends to take a break from music, placing her budding career on hold.

Interesting, I wonder why she is breaking from music. She is such a talented singer/songwriter and I love her range as a singer. Maybe she just needs time to find herself and what she really wants to do.

NO SIGNS OF SLOWING RIHANNA DOWN!!

Loud’ is officially Rihanna’s fastest selling album to date, and with the rate it is selling, it could be one of her most successful. The album has sold over two million worldwide, with most of those sales hailing from the UK where she has sold close to a million copies. That is thanks to those Christmas sales and performing on Britain’s biggest chart-impacting talent show The X Factor – not just once but twice on separate episodes!  The project has now topped the Global Album Chart after its release six weeks ago. It has also encountered a sales increase of 21%, meaning the additional 521,000 copies sold worldwide has knocked Michael Jackson’s ‘Michael’ off the top spot.

WHO SANG IT BETTER? JENNIFER HUDSON/FANTASIA RENDITION OF ‘I’M HERE’

Jennifer Hudson performed a rendition of “I’m Here”, with the Tennessee State University Choir, one of the songs from Oprah’s broadway play/movie, The Color Purple  in tribute to Oprah Winfrey at the 33rd Annual Kennedy Center Honors ceremony. Although the award show was recorded earlier this month, it finally aired earlier this week.  with the Tennessee State University Choir.

Orginally, Fantasia sang the song as she wowed audiences as her portrayal of Celie in the play.  Here she is at the 61st  Tony Awards belting it out!!

Personally, both ladies have powerful, soul envoked voices; however, Fantasia definitely adds that extra umph to it!!
