True Soul Singer: Kelly Price Back with NEW Song- “TIRED”

*New York, NY – Grammy-nominated R&B powerhouse and songwriter, Kelly Price, is back and set to release her much-anticipated sixth album, Kelly, in February 2011 (Sang Girl/My Block Records).

The album’s explosive lead track, “Tired,” has impacted radio, reaching a Top 30 spot at Urban AC this week.

The soul-stirring track, written by Kelly Price, was produced by Shep Crawford and inspired by a creative heart-to-heart Kelly Price shared with fellow musician and past collaborator, R. Kelly.

The song sheds light on the social ills that were not only causing her distress at the time, but also seemed to be plaguing the world as a whole.

Kelly Price strongly delivers a running list of things that consume her thoughts – from guilty feelings and broken dreams to baby mommas and ghetto dramas.

From the heaviness in the opening verse, “There’s a hole in my heart, my soul is bleeding…” you’ll know exactly where she’s heading and why this song is a guaranteed hit that all can relate to. The album will feature additional production by Warryn Campbell and Jazz Nixon.

In addition to her album preparation, Kelly Price is currently promoting a new remix campaign engaging fans to create the official dance version of her single “Tired.”

From November 5 through December 5, 2010, the singer will directly accept fan submissions for personal consideration and will announce the winner on December 11, 2010. She will provide commentary about submissions through regular video updates throughout the duration of the campaign. The winner of the “Tired” Remix Campaign will earn formal credit for Kelly Price’s official “Tired Remix.”

About Kelly Price
Since making her mark in 1998 with the double-platinum debut, Soul of a Woman, Kelly Price has been a consistent presence on the R&B and Gospel scenes.  Her first single, “Friend of Mine,” was a record-breaking single that made history as the first to garner the #1 spot on the singles chart without an accompanying video clip–a rare feat during the era when music videos were the driving force of popular culture.  She returned to center stage three years later with the platinum-plus seller, Mirror, Mirror, led by her remake of the R&B classic, “As We Lay,” and followed up with the gold-selling holiday collection, One Family:  A Christmas Album in 2001.  Three years after releasing her fourth album, Priceless, she returned to her roots for This Is Whom I Am, a live gospel album recorded at her church home in Long Island.  The album included the uplifting single, “Healing,” which not only reached the top of the gospel charts, but was also credited and awarded at the 2007 ASCAP Awards as one of the top five songs played across both R&B and Gospel genres during 2006.

DeVaughn and Hopson started the label in an effort to create a platform for talented artists and the unique sound of the Washington DC metropolitan area. While it is well known that New York City, Atlanta and Los Angeles are the focal points of the entertainment industry, they’re seeking to begin that same type of movement right here in our nation’s capital. 368 Music Group’s foundation is built on grassroots initiatives that not only involve the music industry, but the community as a whole; as 368 Music Group proudly represents the DMV (DC, Maryland and Virginia) area.

Make sure you support the movement, the DMV is so slept on and we have overwhelming talent!! I definitely know this first hand, as I am a graduate of Duke Ellington School of Arts in DC.  We have to build each other up and support one another instead of developing ego’s and forgetting that we’re all in this together.  I wanna see DC rocking off the charts like any other notable states.  Let’s get it!!! #Team DMV
