Beyoncé to Release Charity Single ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’
Beyoncé is proudly wearing her stars and stripes. With renewed patriotism sweeping across the country following the demise of Osama bin Laden, the singing sensation has recorded a studio version of “God Bless the U.S.A.”
The song will air on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” with proceeds benefitting 9/11 charities. “#Beyonce released a new song, a cover of ‘God Bless the USA’, last night on PiersTonight CNN . He wrote, “All proceeds from #Beyonce song will go to New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund.”
Bey first performed the Lee Greenwood cover in 2008 for Barack Obama’s campaign and it arrives the same day as the President’s visit to Ground Zero to honor those lost on 9/11. “#Beyonce first recorded ‘God Bless The USA’ in 2008 for Pres Obama campaign but never released it,” added the British host, while showering praise on her rendition. “I just listened to the #Beyonce song – and it’s stunning.”
The patriotic single will become available on iTunes shortly after. “Fans should be able to buy #Beyonce song as soon as Friday on iTunes and from her website beyonce.com.”

Set to a marching beat which samples Major Lazer’s “Pon de Floor,” pop’s fearless leader wields her power over the opposite sex. “My persuasion can build a nation/ Endless power, without love we can devour/ You’ll do anything for me,” commands Bey.

Lil Wayne Calls Porcelain Black the ‘Baddest Bitch in the Game’
Lil Wayne knows a bad chick when he sees one. The Young Money chief is convinced that Porcelain Black is the next big thing, praising the glam rocker while on set of her video for “This Is What Rock N Roll Look Like.”
“The baddest bitch in the game, you feel me?” said Weezy, who appears in both the video and on the single. “I said it, you dig? And I’m aight, too.”
The 25-year-old Detroit native, who is currently opening on the “I Am Music II” tour, explained that the single is for anyone who’s ever been bullied or treated like an outcast. “I think that was a really important song for us to be the first single because it’s a good message, but it’s badass as f**k at the same time and there’s lots of kids out there that got picked on growing up,” she said. “You gotta embrace who you are and never be ashamed of who you are. It’s important to be creative. It’s important to be different.”

Nas and Damian Marley take it to the streets in the video for “Land of Promise” featuring Dennis Brown, the latest release from their joint album Distant Relatives. The rap and reggae stars invade Jamaica in the balmy clip, posting up in front of a graffiti portrait of Brown and mingling with the locals.
While the duo is currently touring in Europe, Nas is trying to etch time into his schedule to follow up with his next solo LP. “I got two [songs]. I’m just starting,” he revealed on BBC Radio 1Xtra. “It’s definitely a nice focus right now, the stuff I started on. I’m happy. I’m excited. I can’t wait.”
