Frank Ocean spreads some sunshine on “Golden Girl,” a bonus track on the physical edition of his hot-selling album channel ORANGE, in stores July 17. The R&B sensation finds the perfect woman, who puts a smile on his face.
“You’re 24k, you make it bright when it’s gray,” sings Ocean over the breezy beat, which features a verse from his Odd Future comrade Tyler, the Creator.
“GOLDEN GIRL. Reminds Me Of Being In Hawaii Right Now. With A Freckled Faced One. Yah,” tweeted Tyler.
Frank Ocean teams with André 3000 on “Pink Matter,” one of the few collaborations on his new album channel ORANGE, which rocketed to No. 1 on iTunes hours afters its release. The OutKast MC adds a stellar verse (“If models are made for modeling/ Thick girls are made for cuddlin’”) and plays a funky guitar solo on the vulnerable record.
Big Boi revealed that Frank originally wanted both him and André on the track, but Three Stacks didn’t want an OutKast collaboration on anyone else’s album. However, Big Boi may still add his own verse to the song.
channelORANGE is a collective mixture of love and heartbreak that anybody can relate to. Frank’s intimate and poetic way of telling stories make this CD even more stellar. This CD definitely will go on my list of all time favorites. It has been on constant #replay!! Hope he gets that #1 album.

In an interview with ESSENCE, the R&B heartthrob revealed that the project will feature collaborations with Big Sean, Rick Ross, Diddy, and Meek Mill.
“This album will serve my core audience,” he said. “A lot of artists and music trends are going toward Euro-pop and it’s fast money. Chapter V will showcase everything from me. I’m very proud of it.”
