ALICIA KEYS, USHER, AND OTHERS HAVE BEEN RESURRECTED FROM DIGITAL DEATH

Alicia Keys, Ryan Seacrest and more came back to “life” today after taking almost a week off of twitter and facebook while trying to raise $1 million dollars for Alicia Keys’ Keep A Child Alive Foundation.

Earlier today, the combined celebs had raised less than $300,000, but thanks to billionaire “Stewie Rah Rah” huge donation of half a million dollars, the foundation reached it’s goal. Money raised will go towards:

**Providing their clinic in Uganda with everything they need to care for more than 7,000 people living with HIV/AIDS for an entire year.

• Running their child rescue program in South Africa for the next 3 years, bringing justice to hundreds of children victimized by rape, and protecting thousands more.

• Provide a year’s supply of medicine, food, care and support to 1500 children in South Africa, orphaned by AIDS or living in child-headed households.

• Expand the programs at their safe-house project in India to more than 1,000 people, helping them regain their health and overcome the stigma of living with HIV/AIDS for 5 years.

 


RAPPER, THE GAME SENDS UP PRAYERS FOR HIS 3 MONTH DAUGHTER

The GAME may say a lot of crazy things on his Twitter page, but today he is asking for your help.

According to the The Game, his daughter Cali is having surgery and he is requesting that fans send out a special prayer for her speedy recovery.

“My daughter has surgery today. If you find time send a prayer up for me on her behalf. THANK YOU in advance,” The Game tweeted.

“Cali Dream Taylor: Daddy Loves u & is with u as u take this short journey under Gods watch. He will c it through so we can rejoice tomorrow.”

Although the condition causing the need for surgery is not specified, from The Game’s tweets, you can see that it is something that is pretty serious.

“She’s only 3 months old so it’s extra HARD to fathom but through God’s strife she is already healed, still I pray that all goes as planned,” The Game continued. “She was supposed to have the surgery when I got home but the condition worsened and it had to be moved up, It’s KILLIN ME that I’m not there.”

The Game, who reported that his daughter has entered surgery, states that the procedure should be fairly short but requests the help of his fans through this difficult time.

“Her mother just informed me that she just went in, so prayerfully it will be a short successful process. THANK EVERYONE who sends her LOVE.”

CELEBS DIE FOR YOU ON 12/01/10!

Twitter streams across the world are about to lose some star power. On Wednesday Dec. 1st, celebs including Alicia Keys, Lady Gaga, Usher, Jennifer Hudson, Justin Timberlake, Kim Kardashian, and many more are taking part in the new campaign called Digital Life Sacrifice. The stars will sign off of social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter on behalf of Alicia Keys’ charity Keep a Child Alive.

The digital protest is intended to raise money on World AIDS Day, with participants signing back on to their respective social networking profiles when the charity raises $1 million.

While cannabis’s links to devastating mental health problems are well known, its potential to wreck the immune system has received less attention. The American research focused on the effect of cannabis chemicals including THC on the immune system.

In tests on mice, they triggered the production of a ‘massive’ number of immune cells called myeloid-derived suppressor cells or MDSCs. These normally act as a safety brake on the immune system stopping its battle against disease from spiralling out of control.

But in the case of cancer, they may actually make it easier for tumours to grow, the European Journal of Immunology reports.

Lead researcher Dr Prakash Nagarkatti, from the University of South Carolina, said: ‘These results raise interesting questions on whether increased susceptibility to certain types of cancers or infections caused from smoking marijuana results from induction of MDSCs.

The findings could have important implications, not only for those who use the drug recreationally but for those taking it to improve their health.

The drug is used to ease the symptoms of multiple sclerosis and THC can be used in treatment of cancer, glaucoma and HIV.
