Rapper Foxy Brown Considers $2 Million Offer To Cover Playboy

Brooklyn rapper Foxy Brown recently revealed she is mulling an offer to appear on the cover of Playboy magazine.

Foxy Brown broke the news during an interview with the New York Post on Sunday (July 17th).

According to Foxy, Hugh Hefner made her an offer of $2 million to pose for the cover of Playboy.

Reps for Playboy refused to confirm or deny the news.

“Unfortunately, we never comment on who may or may not be appearing on our covers, that’s been our policy,” Playboy spokesperson Abbie O’Neill told the Associated Press. “But if anything changes, we will let you know.”

During the interview, Foxy Brown said that out of all of her legal troubles, her most recent incident for allegedly “mooning” her neighbor bothered her the most.

“I’m cut from a different cloth,” Foxy said. “I would never moon someone. I was raised in a good family.”

In related news, Foxy Brown said that she was pending a memoir about her life and fame titled “A Gift and a Curse.”

DMX Released from Prison, Plans Comeback

DMX is free once again. The notorious rapper was released from an Arizona prison this morning after serving six months behind bars for a probation violation.

X, born Earl Simmons, was upbeat upon exiting the facility and was already planning to get back to music. “I’m feeling good, I’m feeling real good,” he told AllHipHop.com. “I’m gonna see my daughter, I just got off the phone with my wife. I’m going to see my daughter while the sun is up then I’m in the studio, man.”

DMX’s prison stay was lengthened by a week after he was caught in violation of multiple disciplinary infractions including drug possession, failing or refusing a drug test, unauthorized smoking, being disrespectful, and disorderly conduct.

According to a press release issued by his label United Music & Media Group, he plans to collaborate with major names in music over the next couple of months and release “hard-hitting rap music that will leave no question as to who truly is the king of rap.”

“Earl has so much more to offer the world,” stated his rep Nakia Walker. “His latest project has been on hold for so long! It is now time for X to redefine the world of hip-hop with his highly-anticipated album of inspirational, painful, and street-accredited rhymes. It is time to let the Dog out of the kennel.”

Beyonce covers Complex Magazine

Excerpt  from Complex Magazine:

Who runs the pop world? Beyoncé. After a year away to spread her wings, Queen Bey is back to reclaim her throne.

Conventional wisdom holds that people should be afraid of turning 30. It’s the dreaded age when the biological clock starts tickin’ with the menace of a time bomb. Thirty is the point at which someone can call a woman “old”—and she will actually believe it. Conventional wisdom says that turning 16, 18, and 21 kicks ass. Turning 30 kicks rocks.

Of course conventional wisdom isn’t all that wise. Thirty ain’t all that bad. (In truth, women tend to be the most well-rounded and sexiest during their 30s. #justsayin) Still, it has a way of focusing people. Beyoncé Giselle Knowles turns 30 in September. She’s acutely aware of time slipping into the future. Her ticking clock, however, has nothing to do with insecure thoughts of feeling old or washed up. Not by a long shot.

No, Beyoncé is in a race against time because of a simple, bluntly put question: Where the f*&k does she go from here? What does thirtysomething feel like if you’ve accomplished everything most people could ever dream of—wealth, fame, artistic accolades, love—in your teens and twenties?

Trey Songz to Make Big-Screen Debut in ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D’

Trey Songz is known for delivering thrills on stage, and now he’ll be cooking up frights on the big screen. The R&B crooner is set to make his acting debut in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Songz will play one of the leads in Lionsgate’s 3D horror flick, the latest revisualization of Tobe Hooper’s 1974 classic about a group of teenagers who encounters a family of cannibals in Texas.

The 26-year-old singer will star as the male lead and the boyfriend of actress Alexandra Daddario in the Millennium/Nu Image film directed by John Luessenhop (Takers). It will hit theaters on October 5, 2012.

Songz will get to show off his physical, romantic, and heroic sides in the movie, which shoots later this month in Shreveport, Louisiana, with a group of fresh-faced actors.

In between his foray into Hollywood, Trey is also working on music and is expected to deliver his fifth album this fall.

D’Angelo Back At Work on Long-Awaited New Album

D’Angelo is apparently back at work on his decade-plus-in-the-making third album. A studio session took place in New York late last night with two longtime D’Angelo collaborators, Roots drummer Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson and bassist Pino Palladino, as well as producer/engineer Russell Elevado, according to posts from Questlove on Twitter.

“Most people use midnight as a time to sleep. others are working on their 11 year followup. this of course being hour number one,” wrote Quest.

The album, which was at one point provisionally titled “James River,” is being eyed for release before the end of the year through J Records, according to a source, but could move to early 2012 depending on when it is finally turned in. It will be D’Angelo’s long-awaited follow-up to the 2000 album “Voodoo,” which won the 2001 Grammy for best R&B album and has sold 1.7 million copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Questlove and Palladino later backed D’Angelo on an acclaimed tour in support of the album.

The new project has been plagued by long breaks in recording and other delays, and many collaborators have come and gone. Last year, producer Mark Ronson told Billboard.com he was about to hit the studio with D’Angelo, but it is unknown if any of his work will make the final cut. Prince, Raphael Sadiq, John Mayer, Cee Lo Green and Roy Hargrove have also been mentioned as contributors at various times during the process.

Since the release of “Voodoo,” D’Angelo has endured a serious car accident and arrests for drug possession and solicitation. In lieu of new music of his own, he’s made sporadic guest appearances on albums by Ronson, Common, Snoop Dogg, Q-Tip and the late J-Dilla. His last release under his own name was the 2008 Virgin compilation “The Best So Far,” which rounds up highlights from “Voodoo” and its 1995 predecessor “Brown Sugar,” along with soundtrack contributions.

Beyoncé Remains No. 1, Lloyd Debuts in Top 10 on Albums Chart

Beyoncé is sitting pretty on top of the albums chart once more. The pop superstar’s latest album 4 holds onto the No. 1 spot for a second week.

B’s fourth solo offering, featuring the singles “Run the World (Girls)” and “Best Thing I Never Had,” sold 115,000 copies in its second week in stores, according to Nielson Soundscan. This is down 63% from opening week sales of 310,000. The album debuted at No. 1 worldwide upon its release late last month.

Lloyd scores the highest debut of the week on the Billboard 200 at No. 10, moving 26,000 units of his fourth LP King of Hearts. The Zone 4/Interscope release, which features André 3000, R. Kelly, and Keri Hilson, marks his third top 10 set following 2008’s Lessons in Love, which opened at No. 7 with 51,000.

Nicki Minaj Blasts Hotel Assault Reports

Nicki Minaj is refuting reports that she was attacked by a man at a Dallas hotel this week. The Pink Friday rapper took to Twitter to set the record straight.

TMZ reported that Minaj got into an intense verbal fight with an unidentified man who “struck” her in the lower lip at Dallas’ Palomar Hotel while she was in town for Britney Spears’ “Femme Fatale” tour. She reportedly told a hotel employee to call the police after the incident, but did not press charges.

A further investigation contradicts TMZ’s story. A spokesperson for the Dallas Police Department confirmed to MTV News that officers did respond to a call at the hotel on Monday night, but there was no mention of assault. “We responded to her and a friend arguing over a suitcase, and one of them let go and it hit her in the lip,” said Dallas PD spokesperson Kevin Janse.

Nicki fervently denied reports that she was attacked. “The fact that u believe a man either slapped or punched me in the face & didn’t leave on a stretcher w/his balls hangin off? #getaF%cknLife,” she tweeted. “The media could pee on ur leg & tell u its raining. You’d believe it. You’d believe u were an adopted martian if TMZ told u so. #stopit5.”

Her associate Safaree “SB” Samuels, who some had mistaken as the unidentified man, also blasted the allegations. “The general public are some stupid muthafuckas!!!! Y’all dicks believe anything on a website…. It’s really a shame,” he wrote. “4the record I would never lay a hand on ANY woman, I have all sisters and No brothers And that’s the last I’ll say about that!!! God bless.”

Inside Monica and Shannon Brown’s Lavish Wedding [Video]

Monica let cameras inside her fairytale wedding to Shannon Brown. The singer and L.A. Laker exchanged vows for a second time at a renovated cathedral in downtown Los Angeles over the weekend. The bride wore a beautiful dress by Stéphane Rolland with a 15-foot, 50-pound train (“I cried when I first saw it”). Guests including Missy Elliott, Ciara, LL Cool J, Kobe Bryant, and NeNe Leakes shared the special moment with the couple.

“It exceeded my expectations,” Monica told Kevin “The Insider’s” Kevin Frazier. “Everybody that meant something to us was in one place. I was just overwhelmed.”

After the ceremony, Ludacris sent his private plane to pick up his cousin and her husband and take them to the island of Anguilla for their honeymoon.
