Amy Winehouse Laid To Rest At North London Funeral; Ex-Husband Banned From Attendance

Just three days after the shocking news of her tragic death, Amy Winehouse was peacefully put to rest today at Edgwarebury Cemetery in North London, where friends and family gathered to mourn the troubled singer’s passing.

Among those in attendance were prolific producer/DJ Mark Ronson and Kelly Osbourne. Also in attendance was Amy’s father, Mitch Winehouse, who wished his late daughter an endearing “Goodnight” and added “Sleep tight. Mommy and Daddy love you ever so much.”

Among those not in attendance was Winehouse’s ex-husband Blake Fielder-Civil, who was denied release due to a 32-month prison sentence that he is currently serving.

As of now, Amy’s autopsy results are inconclusive.

Keri Hilson Apologizes for Amy Winehouse Tweet

Last night, Keri Hilson was out partying at Juliet in New York when she ran into a fan dressed as Amy Winehouse. “Gasp* Amy Winehouse resurrected to party w/ me!!! (seriously, uncanny resemblance)“, she tweeted before receiving hundreds of tweets from outraged fans of Amy Winehouse who believed the tweet was insensitive and in bad taste.

Keri, later apologized, stating her tweets were not meant to be disrespectful:

Come on, I mean no harm. All due respect. But really the resemblance freaked me out. This was simply the best tribute ever. #RIPAMYWINEHOUSE

I apologize 2 anyone who might’ve taken it the wrong way. As a fan, I thought it was cool that she dressed up to honor Amy..

I had no ill intent, but I understand how it appears insensitive…my bad twitterville. For real.

Kelly Rowland Bares All for VIBE Magazine

Kelly Rowland is definitely on the right path to success, unlike never before.  She is finally getting the props and recognition she deserves.  She recently opened up about a number of issues in the new Vibe Magazine hitting shelves within the coming weeks.  Check out some excerpts below:

→ ON BEING MORE APPRECIATED IN EUROPE VS. HOME

VIBE: The last album didn’t do well in the States. It did better overseas, particularly in Europe. Do you feel more appreciated in Europe?
Kelly Rowland: No, not really. People still compare me to B over there. I said in an interview recently, ‘You know, if you guys would be a little bit more intelligent and ask me about myself we’ll have a much better interview.’ You can’t want a story from me and keep asking me about the past.

→ ON HER COMPLICATED RELATIONSHIP WITH MATTHEW KNOWLES

When you walked away from that last meeting with Mathew, did you feel an “exhale” moment?
I did, but I also felt like, ‘Oh my God, what have I done?!’ I stayed in the house for two days. I was sad. It was like a funeral. I had to deaden that situation in order to start fresh. That’s a very long time to have the same manager and the same label.

What about your personal relationship with Mathew Knowles. Do you still talk to him?
Mathew sent me flowers for my birthday!

But do you talk to him?
It’s… I respect him above anything.

→ ON HER SEDUCTIVE SIDE & VISITING SEX SHOPS

Speaking of this road we’re going on… Let’s talk about the song “Motivation.” I have to admit, the song went completely over my head. I thought you were talking about working out.
[Laughs] No, honey.

When you heard the song, did you think, This may be too racy for my image?
Not at all. Every woman knows what that feels like—hopefully. But everyone doesn’t expect Kelly to sing about it. This is true. But I just loved the song so much. And yes, I can relate to it. I came into my sexuality while I was recording this album. I can walk into a sex shop now and not worry about what people would say if they saw me in there.

You really do that? Go to sex shops?
Yeah! With friends on the low. I go at the right time. Nighttime. 1 a.m. The really good ones are open that late.

Beyoncé to Perform on ‘The View’ and ‘Jimmy Fallon’ This Week

Beyoncé is ramping up her promo in the U.S. The music superstar has been booked to perform on two talk shows this week.

B will chat with the ladies of “The View” on Thursday and perform “Best Thing I Never Had” and “1+1” off her chart-topping album 4, which is currently No. 5 in the country.

Later that same evening, she will stop by NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” to once again sing “Best Thing I Never Had,” but this time she will be backed by house band The Roots.

The 29-year-old singer, who is nominated for three awards at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards, will star in the upcoming remake of A Star Is Born directed by Clint Eastwood.

“I’m slightly a bit intimated, I have to say,” she told PrideSource of her latest film role. “I feel a bit overwhelmed, and I’m still in shock. But the studio and Clint believe in me, and I feel like I’ve been really selective and I’ve waited and worked really hard and I’ve done different types of movies—from comedies to thrillers to drama when I played Etta James—and I really wanted to make sure I was ready.”

Video: Game f/ Chris Brown – ‘Pot of Gold’

Game searches for his “Pot of Gold” in the reflective video for his Chris Brown-assisted single off The R.E.D. Album, dropping August 23. In the Bryan Barber-directed clip, the Compton rapper reminisces on the past as images from his childhood flash onscreen.

“The video is kinda walking back through the days when I didn’t have anything, taking my son with me and showing him how we used to live.” The introspective visuals end with a powerful quote from Game: “Materialism lives outside the lines of my reality.”
