Lebron James brought in 2012 with a big bang proposing to his longtime girlfriend Savannah Brinson.

She was spotted at the Miami Heat vs. Charlotte Bobcats game on Sunday gushing as she held up her ring for all to see.

The night before, she kicked off a New Years Eve dinner and celebration of Lebron’s  27th birthday but it turned into her special night. Lebron had waited all night for the perfect moment to catch her off guard and pop the big question. Moments after the New Year rang in, he got a little help from D Wade, who patiently held the ring while Lebron did his thing. After being totally caught of guard and shocked, Savannah said, ‘Yes!’ and received a beautiful diamond ring.

According to a lawsuit filed earlier this year in federal court in Tennessee, Noreen Nalli served as India.Arie’s manager from 2005-2009, when she claims Arie dumped her without notice.

The two are now involved in a she-said-she-said battle. Nalli claims India.Arie still owes her money from when they worked together and India.Arie counter-sued … claiming she overpaid Nalli.

But here’s the interesting part … Nalli claims India.Arie constantly canceled shows, rejected offers to perform, and would be unavailable for weeks at a time … which hurt record sales and therefore cost Nalli additional money.

A rep for India.Arie tells TMZ that “she remains hopeful that the matter will be resolved amicably.”

Eva Hoeke, editor-in-chief of Jackie Magazine, the controversial magazine that’s having a PR nightmare over the racist terms used in an article to describe Rihanna, has resigned. According to Necole Bitchie, the editor and the publisher felt her credibility were compromised by the incident, and in a statement on the publication’s Facebook page, she announced she is laying down her editorial responsibilities. Here’s what the statement says:

I realize that my first reaction on Twitter, where I indicated that it was a joke, was an incomplete description of what I, and also the author of the article referred. The term ‘n—a b—h’ h” has come over from America and we have only this to describe this particular style of clothes that we can try to interpret. Due to the enormous pressure from social media, I promised to do better regarding the language in future issues of Jackie and I have offered to rectify the situation.

I have now come to the conclusion that rectification is not the right solution. I regret that I have taken too quickly positions on an item in Jackie – which incidentally had no underlying racial motive. In the course of events I went with, the publisher came to the conclusion that, now that my credibility is affected, it’s better for all parties if I immediately lay down my duties as editor. After my eight years giving my heart and soul for Jackie, I realize that these errors – although not malicious intent – are a reason for leaving. “

Jay-Z plans to make sure that baby Brooklyn is protected at all costs.

Newser.com reports that the “Otis” star has spoken with Hollywood legend, Tom Cruise, about armored stunt vehicles to make sure the heiress to Hip-Hop royalty is kept safe.

“Jay is looking at action-movie style vehicles like Tom’s and wants to make sure they are bullet-proof and 100% safe,” a source says. “He won’t be taking any risks, that’s for sure.”

Though Beyonce originally said that she was due in February, rumor has it that she’s actually due this month. Fans will just have to wait to find out.

WE TV has given Tamar Braxton and her husband Vincent Herbert their own reality series. It’s a spinoff of the reality show “Braxton Family Values.”

“We are so very excited for this amazing opportunity,” said Braxton. “With our family series, Braxton Family Values, we aim to show audiences the true meaning of family and sisterhood, and with our new show, marriage. Our journey as two driven individuals that love as hard as we work is one we think audiences will relate to.”

The show will primarily focuses on youngest sister Tamar and her attempt at pop stardom with the support of her husband Vince Herbert.

The strategy mirrors that of E! with the family reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians, which has sprung multiple spinoffs centered on breakout stars from the mothership series, including Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami, Kourtney & Kim Take New York and Khloe & Lamar.

Filming for Tamar & Vince begins in March and the show will air late 2012.

This year soul music was celebrated according to the major cities of Philadelphia, Detroit, Memphis, Chicago and London, where the genre has thrived most.

A lot of music’s finest made an attendance and/or performed on stage such as Chaka Khan, Mary J. Bligez, Kelly Clarkson, Marsha Ambrosius, Jennifer Hudsonz, Jessie J., Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Estelle, Florence + The Machine, Boyz II Men, Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings. A tribute performance was paid to the late Amy Winehouse was done as well.
