Nicki Minaj’s ‘Stupid Hoe’ Video Banned from BET, Video Inside

Don’t expect to see Nicki Minaj’s video on BET.  Her latest clip for “Stupid Hoe” has been banned from the network.

TMZ spoke with a rep for BET who confirmed that they would not be airing the video, but did not specify why.  Other sources at the company tell TMZ that the ban was placed because the video was too explicit for TV.

The Hype Williams-directed clip, which features risqué lyrics and images, has received over 20 million views on VEVO since its premiere on January 20.  Nicki debuted the video online to avoid being censored.

“Can’t premiere on a network b/c its important that my art is not tampered with, or compromised prior to you viewing it for the 1st time,” she explained.

The Young Money rap diva is not the first artist to be banned from BET.  Ciara’s “Ride” video was deemed too steamy for television and Game’s “Red Nation” was blacklisted for gang affiliation.

Wendy Williams To Launch Shoe Line Later This Week

Wendy Williams has never been one to shy away from the spotlight, but the normally boisterous talk show host has kept her lips sealed about one thing: the line of shoes she is designing.

According to reports, the shoe line, called Adorn, is produced by Ashley Taylor & Co. and ISO New York and will be unveiled later this week at Fashion Footwear Association of New York trade show.

WWD caught up with the radio personality turned talk show host to talk about the shoe line and just how hard it was for her to keep a secret.

“It’s one of the hardest things that I have had to keep from [my audience],” she said. “I haven’t had a secret as hard to keep since I was sworn to secrecy about being on ‘Dancing With the Stars. It’s about [the shoes] fitting, being comfortable and being fabulous,” she said.

You Can Own A Piece Of Facebook Soon

The long-awaited tech IPO (Initial Public Offering) of the year — perhaps of the decade — is almost here. Facebook will file its paperwork for an Initial Public Offering on Wednesday, according to The Wall Street Journal.

You can start gathering your pennies to invest in the company but it will still be several months until the company goes public hits Wall Street.

The initial offering is expected to raise as much as $10 billion, which would make it the biggest U.S. Internet IPO in history. The record currently stands at $1.9 billion, by Google when it went public in 2004.

Facebook’s reported valuation of $75 billion to $100 billion means the company will be one of the few top companies on wall street. Just to give you an idea, McDonald’s Corp. is worth $100 billion , $90 billion for Citigroup Inc. and Amazon.com Inc. and $75 billion for Bank of America Corp.

Both Facebook and Google earn most of their money from advertising and are now competing to gain as much information as possible about their users to help advertisers target niche audiences.

Zuckerberg, 27 who created Facebook is already worth $17.5 billion, based on the latest estimates from Forbes magazine. Most of that wealth is drawn from the value of Facebook shares that have traded among a small universe of well-heeled investors that buy stakes in companies before they go public.

Simon Cuts Three Judges From X-Factor Including Paula Abdul

After so-so ratings (they weren’t bad but FOX expected more) Simon Cowell has gone on an axing spree with his new show.

Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones have been axed but they aren’t the only ones not coming back to X Factor next season.

Believe it or not, Fox has informed Simon Cowell’s longtime homey Paula Abdul she won’t be needed for the next show.

At this point, the only ones staying are Simon and L.A. Reid.

Fox and Cowell are determined to make changes to the series after a first season that performed solidly, but fell short of what many felt was the show’s high potential given its ratings dominance in the UK (Factor delivers about 12.6 million viewers for its Wednesday episodes).

The events cap weeks of speculation about whether Scherzinger and Jones will continue on the show. Abdul’s future with the series has been speculated about too, but less so — especially given her longtime friendship and working history with Factor judge and executive producer Simon Cowell.

Nigel Lythgoe was also shocked by the news, tweeting, “Shocked to see Simon has fired Paula Abdul, Nicole and Steve from the X-Factor.”
