MATTHEW KNOWLES SHARES HIS AMERICAN DREAM, AND WHY THE KNOWLES EMPIRE IS WHAT IT IS TODAY

Matthew Knowles, father of famous daughters  Beyonce and Solange Knowles participated in Fox news networks’ Real American Stories series. According to his story, success didn’t come easy for the Knowles. He shared his American story about how he grew up, supporting his children’s dreams and why you should never give up on your own dreams.

We paid a lot of attention to what our kids’ dreams were. Entertainment was the thing that they love and singing, so we focused on making sure they had dance lessons and vocal lessons and things that they needed and wanted to do. Whatever my kids wanted, I wanted to be the dad that supported their dream and supported their passion.

I grew up in segregation. My mother went to high school with Coretta King. Being one of the first African-American at  Litchfield junior high. Having state troopers take me to school everyday, having parents outside with signs saying very negative things about a young kid. I always had a dream for myself, I had always given myself 20 years in corporate America, I wanted to be in the music industry and it was happening at the same time that my oldest daughter, Beyonce had a dream that she wanted to be in the music industry.

Our family comes from a very diverse background and I use our family as an example that we came from an environment that was not the best economically. But we came from an environment where family was important and a lot of love. To be where we are today, truly reflects America and the opportunities that exist in America. Our kids, Beyonce, Solange and Kelly saw their parents work extremely hard everyday. I think those work ethics is what really drives them today. I tell young people never give up on their dreams. It won’t happen the first time…even Destiny’s Child, they got dropped by a major record label before they got signed. I just think that one of the things we always have to remember is that it’s not going to be perfection. I think that if we realize that we work toward a common goal, inside of negatively is often an opportunity. That’s the great thing that we discuss, change in America.

It’s good to see Rihanna keeping her cool with all the controversy going on surrounding her new ‘S&M’ video.  The video has been banned in 11 countries.  However, it all goes back to the big double standard in the industry…I have seen far worst than ‘S&M,’ and I don’t recall those videos being banned.  I’m just saying……

REUNITED & IT FEELS SO GOOD: The “Best Man” Cast Celebrates 12 Years!

The Best Man cast hit BOA restaurant in L.A. Saturday night to kick it 12 years after they released the movie.

Director Malcolm Lee said about the cast’s reunion:

On Saturday, January 29th, the cast and the director of the 1999 film, The Best Man, which opened at #1 in the box-office, got together in West Hollywood for drinks and dinner to reminisce, catch up and discuss the future. It’s hard to believe we all haven’t been in the same space for over 12 years, but it was like we’ve seen each other everyday. It was a joy to reunite with the “Black Pack”, one of the best casts ever assembled in my view. Judging from the laughs, conversation and smiles we’d all love to find a way to collaborate again. God willing it’ll happen.

Christina Milian & The-Dream Fight Over Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’

Justin Bieber is at the center of a dispute between Christina Milian and The-Dream. The former couple is engaged in a legal battle over payments from the teen pop star’s smash “Baby.”

As part of their divorce settlement, The-Dream previously agreed to pay Milian a significant amount, including 10 percent of his publishing stake in the Biebs’ 2010 hit single “Baby,” which he co-wrote with her.

According to TMZ, the Dream is not happy because Milian is demanding more money, including a larger percentage of the song’s earnings.

Since her attempt to renegotiate, The-Dream is trying to stop any payments to his ex, which Milian is fighting.

The former Mrs. Nash is making a concerted effort to leave the past behind, including the dress she wore during her wedding to The-Dream in Rome. “I’m cleaning house and need to get rid of my wedding dress I wore in Rome. What do you guys think I should do with it?ebay? Know of options?” she asked her Twitter followers before deciding to donate the gown.
