Lauryn Hill Turns Down Oprah Interview
Oprah has interviewed everyone from Michael Jackson to President Obama, but there’s one celebrity who has evaded her. According to the media mogul, Lauryn Hill turned down an offer to sit down with her.
Following her revealing interview with Rihanna for “Oprah’s Next Chapter,” one of O’s Twitter followers asked her to get Lauryn Hill on her show, but the elusive superstar was not interested. “Tried. She said no,” tweeted Oprah.
Winfrey has scored exclusive interviews with Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina, 50 Cent, the Kardashians, and Paris Jackson for the latest season of her OWN program.
Another star who’s not quite ready to have a heart-to-heart with Oprah is Beyoncé. While the private singer appeared on her daytime talk show several times, she has been reluctant to say yes to an in-depth interview. “See if you can convince Beyonce, I haven’t had luck yet,” Oprah told one fan.

Willow Smith Pens Letter to Tupac
Willow Smith is wise beyond her years. The 11-year-old singer has shared a letter that she wrote to Tupac Shakur years ago. In the handwritten note, she asks the late hip-hop icon to come back because her mother Jada Pinkett-Smith misses him. Jada and Pac had a close relationship, which some believed was more than a friendship.
“Can you come back so mommy and me can be happy?” asks Willow, who will star in a remake of the 1982 musical Annie.

New Video: Beyoncé – ‘I Was Here’
Beyoncé aims to reach 1 billion people on one day with one message of hope with the video for “I Was Here,” dedicated to World Humanitarian Day. The pop powerhouse has teamed up with the United Nations and humanitarian aid organizations to launch a global campaign to celebrate humanitarian work and encourage people worldwide to get involved by helping others on August 19. Beyoncé filmed the visuals in front of a live audience at the United Nations General Assembly Hall in New York earlier this month.
“It says, ‘I want to leave my footprints in the sands of time’ and it basically is all of our dreams,” B told Anderson Cooper of the Diane Warren-penned ballad off her latest album 4. “And that’s leaving our mark on the world. I feel like we all want to know that our life meant something.”
The video was helmed by production company Ridley Scott & Associates and directors Kenzo Digital and Sophie Muller (“Ring the Alarm,” “Deja Vu”).
