Lauryn Hill was in town last night (DC), for her sold out performance at the Warner Theater. From what I’ve been hearing she put on amazing show. She even closed out the show with what many are speculating to be new material from an upcoming album that Ms. Hill has been working on. The song “Fearless Vampire Killer,” see’s Hill spitting some lyrical venom as well as singing on the song. It has a rock feel mixed with her Hip-Hop edge.
This year’s BET Rip The Runway show was hosted by Pooch Hall and Selita Ebanks. Performers included Wale, Estelle, Meek Mill, Robin Thicke, B.O.B, Diggy Simmons. Designers from around the US dropped by to showcase their latest in street, formal, couture, and retro fashions. Check out some pics from the red carpet:

Mike Epps daughter filed a police report Thursday report accusing the comedian and Indianapolis native of making threatening phone calls to her.
Bria Epps told the Star she made the complaint after she and Epps, 41, who lives in California, argued on the phone. Bria Epps said she was upset because Epps didn’t mention her during an appearance on the “Wendy Williams Show.”
“They asked about his children and he said he had two daughters,” said Bria Epps, who lives on the West Side with her mother, Mike Epps’ former girlfriend. “He has four.”
Epps was “hurt” that his daughter made the complaint, said Amp Harris, a local promoter who works with and knows Epps.
“He will deal with it in private with his daughter.” Harris said. “He doesn’t want to make this a reality TV show. This is a situation in which no one wins. Bria doesn’t win and Mike doesn’t win as a father.” Epps hasn’t responded publicly but commented on Twitter, “To all y’all on tweeter I love my daughter Bria epps no matter what !!peice.”
Earlier he had tweeted about the complaint: “You tell your kids to go to college,and they call the police on you!!Danm lol this crazy world!!” “Mike is a dedicated father who has tried to help his daughter tremendously in the last couple of years,” Harris said. “They have a great relationship.” This is the second time Mike Epps’ daughter and her mother had made a complaint for harassing phone calls against the funnyman.
T.I. is expanding his Grand Hustle family. The King of the South has signed Australian rapper Iggy Azalea, British MC Chipmunk (now known as just Chip), and Houston’s Trae Tha Truth to his label. He introduced the newest members of the Hustle Gang during an interview with MTV News.
Iggy, who Tip calls the “Igga Monster,” explained how she linked up with the head Hustler. “Tip reached out just to meet me, to say hello, and I found a position for him conveniently where he could be used, and he was fucking with it,” said the blonde bombshell, who will drop the first single from her debut The New Classic in 2-3 weeks.
But Tip tells a slightly different story. “Her exact words were, ‘It’s very smart of you to call me because I’m going to be smashing shit for quite some time now and no one will be able to breathe if you’re not on my team.’”
Chip has already made a name for himself overseas, but connected with T.I. to help expand his presence in the U.S. “Everyone was like, you’re young, you’re 21, someone just needs to dive in at the deep end in America and just try and bridge the gap a little bit more between the cultures musically,” he said. “Tip was rocking with what I was doing, so we just linked up.”
Rick Ross isn’t the only boss. Jennifer Hudson calls the shots in the video for the first single from the soundtrack to Think Like a Man featuring Ne-Yo and the Miami rap Don. The Grammy-winning singer knows how to handle her business and still remain a lady, running her company and showing off her svelte figure as she dances with her all-female staff in heels. She thwarts off comedian Kevin Hart’s advances, but falls for Ne-Yo’s charm.
“The concept is derived from the film and the thought process is that women need to always act like a lady and be a woman, but think like a man, take up for yourself and be strong,” explained director Chris Robinson.
J-Hud praised her male co-stars. “Ne-Yo has got to be the greatest songwriter of our generation,” she said, “and Rick Ross has everything—the street, that swag, he can kinda give you Biggie.”
Robin Thicke adds a touch of old Hollywood charm to the video for his Lil Wayne-assisted single “Pretty Lil’ Heart” off his fifth album Love After War. Mr. Thicke channels the late James Dean in the Marc Klasfeld-directed clip, which was filmed at a motel in the desert.
“The inspiration behind this song was really just about when you’re in a relationship and you’re faced with all the challenges of temptation and attraction to other people, how can you trust when you’re not with that other person [that] they’re doing you right?” said Thicke.
The cinematic visuals were inspired by classic films like Rebel Without a Cause and A Streetcar Named Desire. “I’m a big movie fan, especially of old movies,” he shared. “So I really wanted to embody a little bit of that old cinematic charm, the golden age of Hollywood, and try to capture a little bit of that and put it into some soul music.”
Following months of rumors and speculation, Wiz Khalifa has finally put a ring on it. The “Black and Yellow” rapper proposed to longtime girlfriend Amber Rose, sharing the news with the world on Twitter.
“She Said Yes!!!” he tweeted, along with a photo of the flashy engagement ring. Amber responded, “He has made me the Happiest Woman in the World!!!!”
