New Video-Brandy and Monica – ‘It All Belongs to Me’

Fourteen years after topping the charts with their Grammy-winning hit “The Boy Is Mine,” Brandy and Monica are back and better than ever in the Chris Robinson-directed video for “It All Belongs to Me.”

But they’re no longer the feuding teenagers from the ’90s. The divas join forces to kick their no-good men to the curb, reclaiming their pricey possessions including cars, clothes, and computers. And they look damn good doing it—dressed in designer wardrobes as they haul their stuff out of a fancy crib and take off.

“It is not anything like ‘The Boy Is Mine,’” Monica told Atlanta’s V-103. “At this point, this is where you’re taking your power back and we gon’ come together. This is totally different than that era and I hope it speaks to all the people who are making diss tracks and going hard on each other. Come together and watch the numbers move.”

The Rico Love-produced duet will appear on Monica’s seventh album New Life, due April 10, and Brandy’s RCA/Chameleon debut Two Eleven, coming this June.

The ladies look better than ever, and their voices are as crips and maturer unlike before.  I think it’s a great look to see two staples in R&B music come together and keep the true essence of R&B music alive. Whitney taught them well!!  Respect!!

Kanye West, Alicia Keys, Shyne, Diddy, & Cassie Attend Givenchy Show

Just days before he presents his new womenswear line to the fashion world, Kanye West was front row at the Givenchy show at Paris Fashion Week. Yeezy sported a studded white sweater with stars as he soaked up some inspiration alongside Alicia Keys, who looked saintly in a white blouse and blazer with a cross hanging from her neck.

Kanye is good friends with Givenchy’s creative director Riccardo Tisci, who designed the packaging and wardrobe for the Watch the Throne album and tour. Tisci even gave the first T-shirt from Givenchy’s children’s line to Alicia and Swizz Beatz’ son Egypt.

The reunited Diddy and Shyne met up with ‘Ye outside the show and Cassie posed for portraits in all black at the after-party.

Ice Cube Gives Update On “Last Friday”; Talks Future Directorial Projects

Back in November, rumors stated that Ice Cube would be writing, producing, and possibly directing the final installment in the Friday franchise, tentatively titled Last Friday, and that the first film’s co-star, Chis Tucker, would be returning.

In an interview with Collider, Ice Cube, who is doing press rounds for his role in the upcoming comedy 21 Jump Street, offered a significant update on the highly-anticpiated sequel, including the revelation that he has already begun writing the film.

“There’s a lot of movement. I’m writing the script right now, so we worked out a deal with New Line. The ball is rolling. We invited everybody back and we’ll have a fun movie.”

When asked if Chris Tucker, who famously portrayed the character Smokey in the first Friday almost 15 years ago, would be returning, Cube responded with “I hope so.”

Tucker, who has not starred in a film since Rush Hour 3, is currently filming David O. Russell’s The Silver Lining’s Playbook, marking his first return to the silver screen since 2007. The film is set for theatrical release this November and also stars Robert DeNiro and Bradley Cooper.

Having directed the ESPN 30 For 30 documentary “Straight Outta L.A.” last year, it was only natural for Collider to ask Cube if he had plans for any future directorial projects outside of Last Friday. “Yeah it’s always in the works,” he answered. “I gotta find pet projects, things that I’m really into. If not, I’ll just produce. If I find something that I just know I have to do, then I’ll direct.”

Ice Cube can next be seen in the comedy 21 Jump Street which hits theaters on March 21.

Argument In Club Preceeded Young Buck Shooting

Rapper Young Buck and his girlfriend were involved in an altercation just moments before a shooting that riddled the rap star’s SUV.

Young Buck, born David Brown, was inside of club La Bamba in South Nashville early Sunday morning, when he and his girlfriend were involved in a heated exchange with another group of people.

Security intervened in the matter and Young Buck and his girlfriend Kenyetta Rainey left the club, along with the party they originally argued with.

Moments later, a white Chevy Tahoe pulled up alongside Young Buck’s Cadillac Escalade and fired upon the vehicle.

The Cadillac Escalade was struck 11 times, and Young Buck’s girlfriend was grazed in the shoulder.

Rainey was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries and released.

Police are still seeking suspects in the shooting, which occurred hours after Young Buck hosted a video shoot and cookout.

Diddy and Shyne Reunite at Fashion Week

It was a Bad Boy reunion at Paris Fashion Week. Sean “Diddy” Combs linked up with his former signee Shyne at the Kenzo show on Sunday. “Me and Shyne Po front row at Kenzo,” wrote Diddy. Shyne, who is an Orthodox Jew, was dressed in his traditional Hasidic garb as he sat alongside the hip-hop mogul and later headed to dinner with the Bad Boy crew including Cassie.

The two have reconciled after Shyne took the rap for the infamous Club New York shooting in 1999. He served a nine-year prison sentence after being convicted of assault and gun possession, while Diddy was acquitted.

“As far as Puff is concerned, that’s been a long time coming,” Shyne recently told MTV News. “He had reached out to me twice while I was in the pen, but I just wasn’t ready for it.”

Escape of Death: Young Buck’s Vehicle Shot 11 Times; Woman Injured

Police in Nashville are seeking suspects who opened fire on Young Buck’s SUV and injured a female passenger in the vehicle.  Nashville police said that a white Chevy Tahoe pulled up alongside of Young Buck’s SUV around 3:30am this morning and fire 11 shots at the vehicle. A female passenger was struck in the shoulder and taken to Vanderbilt Hospital, where she was treated for her injuries and released.  Another passenger in the vehicle, which was being driven by Young Buck at the time of the shooting, escaped unharmed as did the rapper.  According to WSMV TV Channel 4 police are still seeking suspects and a motive in the shooting.  Young Buck has yet to comment on the incident.

Brandy Announces Album Title, Sets June Release

After keeping her fans waiting, Brandy has revealed the title and release month for her RCA/Chameleon Records debut.

She made the announcement during her live show at Factory in West Hollywood on Friday night, later tweeting it out to her followers. “Two Eleven – June 2012,” she wrote.

The title represents the month and date of her birthday, February 11. It also happens to be the day her mentor and friend Whitney Houston passed away. She dedicated her 2008 single “Right Here (Departed)” to her during last night’s performance.

The follow-up to 2008’s Human features the single “It All Belongs to Me,” her Rico Love-produced duet with Monica, along with contributions from Sean Garrett, Chris Brown, Bangladesh, Frank Ocean, Hit-Boy, and more.

“It’s just gonna be a different album, but of course expressing the love that I feel now and the struggles and different situations that I’ve gone through in the past,” Brandy said. “My music always tends to be the soundtrack to my life and definitely inspired by what I see other people go through as well—gritty, edgy, different.”

Her collaborator Sean Garrett added, “It’s gonna show the evolution of Brandy, the fact that she’s very, very current. Her harmonies and vocal abilities are still unmatched and there’s still a lot of integrity in her records.”
