The mood at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party turned from celebratory to somber after Whitney Houston’s tragic passing.  Celebrities gathered at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills—the same hotel where the singer was found dead hours earlier—for the annual affair.  While there were initial reports that the party had been canceled, it went on as planned, with Houston’s colleagues pouring out to celebrate the life of the 48-year-old legend.

Performers included Diana Ross, Jessie J, Marsha Ambrosius, Tony Bennett, Pitbull with Ne-Yo, and Wiz Khalifa with Miguel (“Young, Wild & Free”).  Brandy and Monica, who were originally scheduled to duet, did not perform.

 

Whitney Houston’s Daughter Bobbi Kristina was Rushed to Hospital

Whitney Houston’s daughter was been rushed to the hospital. TMZreports that 18-year-old Bobbi Kristina Brown was taken on a stretcher to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles on Sunday morning.

She was staying at the Beverly Hilton, the same hotel where her mother passed away the day before.

Police responded to a call for a medical emergency, but would not confirm who was transported.

On Saturday evening, Bobbi Kristina reportedly got into an argument with police officers outside the hotel room where her mother was found dead.  After being turned away, she got into a shouting match, demanding to see her mother’s body.

Bobbi Kristina is Whitney’s only child from husband Bobby Brown.  The former couple married in 1992 and divorced in 2007.

Rihanna fired up the 54th Annual Grammy Awards in a black backless dress with a plunging neckline.  The blonde bombshell, who won the Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for Kanye West’s “All of the Lights,” designed the outfit with Armani.  According to RiRi, the show-stopper was inspired by Michelle Pfeiffer in Scarface and is “simple, sexy, and gangsta at the same time.”  She made it a family affair, posing on the red carpet alongside her father Ronald and youngest brother Rajad

Jay-Z Presents J. Cole with Grammy Gifts

Cole may have lost the Best New Artist however he will always be a winner in the eyes of his label boss Jay-Z.  Mr. Carter and his Roc Nation family sent Cole a pop-up card of the Hollywood Bowl that read, “You already won!  Living your dreams!” and a $2000 bottle of Louis XIII de Rémy Martin cognac.

Following the tragic loss of Whitney Houston, Beyoncé reflects on the “ultimate woman” who helped open doors for singers like herself.  Her publicist has issued the following statement.

“The loss of Whitney Houston is painful.  I remember meeting Whitney for the first time when I was 15.  She was the ultimate legend. The ultimate woman.  Not only was she confident, poised, stunningly beautiful and intelligent, but she was sincere and kind.  She took the time to make everyone feel like they were very important to her.  I, like every singer, always wanted to be just like her.  Her voice was perfect. Strong but soothing. Soulful and classic. Her vibrato, her cadence, her control.   So many of my life’s memories are attached to a Whitney Houston song.  She is our queen and she opened doors and provided a blueprint for all of us.  God bless her.”

The duo, who have a storied history together (Rhone signed Rowland to Universal Motown two years ago), were the chief recipients at Essence’s 3rd Annual Women In Music gala – which was also attended by Rowland’s Destiny’s Child badmate Michelle Williams.

DAMN SON: Flo Rida Sued For Paying His Employees Only $3/Hour

Rapper Flo Rida is facing a lawsuit from a former assistant who claims she was fired after she complained about working long hours for low pay.

In a new lawsuit, Mahogany Miller alleges she began working for the hip-hop star as his administrative assistant back in August and put in around 65 hours a week for just $3.08 an hour!

She alleges she was sacked less than a day after she complained about the hours and pay. Miller is suing for unspecified damages.

Beyonce and Jay-Z Trademark Blue Ivy Carter’s Name

Blue Ivy Carter is telling her parents to trademark her name so she knows it’s real, and the new parents will go to any extent to ensure that their baby girl, and her name, remains safe.

Jay-Z and Beyonce are in the works to trademark Blue Ivy Carter’s name. According to reports, the paperwork is already in process.

The couple filed a petition at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on January 26th, just weeks after becoming mom and dad to their first child.

According to the Washington Post, the patenting office had already thwarted a number of attempts to use the baby’s name commercially:

Joseph Mbeh, the fashion design entrepreneur behind Fourfront Clothing attempted to trademark the name Blue Ivy Carter Nyc on January 11, 2012, four days after Beyonce gave birth. And on January 20, 2012, someone attempted to trademark a fragrance range with the name Blue Ivy Carter Glory IV.

The filing, submitted by Beyonce’s company BGK Trademark Holdings, is currently pending, but is expected to be approved.

Who would have ever thought that the combination of two such simple words would wreak trade-marking havoc?

Blue Ivy is definitely the hottest baby on the block, and she can’t even crawl yet.

Khloe Kardashian Reunites with Her Real Father?

Did Khloe Kardashian meet her father for the first time?!

After months of speculation, Khloe Kardashian and Alex Roldan have finally come face-to-face.

Kylie Jenner uploaded the first pictures with the caption, “First official photo of my sister and her dad! Like father like daughter!”

Just when you thought this would end the speculation that began after Robert Kardashian’s ex-wives both claimed he told them Khloe wasn’t his daughter … the fam may have pulled a fast one on us.

Khloe tweeted:

Awwwww what an amazing meeting I just had!!!!! Soooo excited!!!! I had such an amazing day!!! Just finished my crazy long yet blessed day! God is GREAT!!!! I love you… Remember that always! Xoxo

But we won’t rush to congratulate to Khloe and Alex Roldan just yet.
