New Music: Young Jeezy f/ Jill Scott – ‘Trapped’

As more music surfaces from Young Jeezy he looks for an escape on the dark “Trapped,” his collaboration with Jill Scott.  The survivors’ anthem, produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, appears on his fourth album TM103: Hustlerz Ambition, available Tuesday.

“The record with Jill Scott basically sums up my life in one song,”  “It’s basically saying I had humble beginnings, but where I came from, I feel like there was no way out. Everywhere I looked, everywhere I turned it was just hurdles and mountains and hills and it was like, ‘How the fuck do I get outta here?’ or ‘How do I better myself?’”

He hopes the song will provide inspiration to those who feel that there’s no way out.  “I just think that should be your theme song because sometimes you do feel trapped, but you gotta know that there’s always a way out of a trap,” he explained.  “Even bears get out of them motherfuckers.  You gotta just believe in you and just push harder.”

Study Shows 60% of Black Females Have Been Sexually Abused By The Time They Turn 18

Sixty percent of Black women in an ongoing study reported they had been sexually assaulted by a Black man before they turned 18, according researchers at Black Women’s Blueprint.

Nationally, more than 300 women were surveyed in the study, and the organization hopes to survey a total of 700 women by March 2012. The group will announce its full findings at that time.

According to Farah Tanis, co-Founder of the New York-based organization and co-author of the study, domestic and sexual abuse in the Black community often goes ignored, and the problem is only getting worse.

“A similar study that was conducted by Black Women’s Health Imperative seven years ago found that that number was about 40 percent,” Tanis told NewsOne. “So that means there is an increase and we need to stop neglecting that issue.”

According to the White House, young women between the ages of 16 to 24 suffer from the highest rates of dating violence and sexual assault. On Nov. 30, Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Pat Leahy (D-Vermont) and Senator Mike Crapo (R-Idaho) introduced bipartisan legislation to reauthorize the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), which was first passed in 1994 by then-Senator Joseph Biden. The legislation helps states and local communities provide services for victims, develop specialized law enforcement units and works to strengthen prosecution of these crimes. The annual incidence of domestic violence has dropped by more than 50 percent since VAWA was first passed, the White House reports.

Teen Who Was Spanked Online For Being In Gang Found Dead [VIDEO]

A teen who was videotaped being spanked by his uncle for boasting about gang ties on his Facebook page was found shot to death last week nearby his New Orleans home.

Michael Taylor, 16, was found shot to death shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7. In a video uploaded in January, Taylor’s uncle spanked the teen after finding out about his gang ties.

In the YouTube video, posted in January, Taylor’s uncle ordered him to disavow any ties to gangs, announced that the family “don’t come from that sh–,” and then proceeded to take off his belt and spank Taylor in full view of the laptop camera.

The original video sparked tons of reaction, from people who applauded the uncle’s actions, calling it an overdue return to old-school parenting and discipline, to those who speculated the public humiliation might drive the teenager deeper into a gang’s circle because the youth had been humiliated.

Donald Trump Jr. Questions Nene’s Wealth

NeNe Leaks famously described herself as “very rich” in a heated argument with Sheree Whitfield on a recent episode of Real House Wives of Atlanta and punctuated her point with the fact that she was cashing “Trump” checks. While NeNe may be very rich, it isn’t because of Donald Trump…

Wet Paint Entertainment caught up with Donald Trump, Jr., who appears alongside his father on Celebrity Apprentice, at the Z100 Jingle Ball presented by Aeropostale, asking what exactly he thought NeNe meant when she bragged about her Trump payoff.

“Honestly, I have no idea,”he told us.“All the celebrities on the show play for charity. She received a small appearance fee, sure, but that was it.”

“And as far as I know,”he added,“she’s not involved with any of our other business or corporations. So I’m not sure what she’s talking about.”

So just how much did Nene earn? Well that exact amount is unknown but Piers Morgan, who won the 1st season of the show back in 2008, revealed he and his castmates only received about $25,000 each to do the show. So perhaps that amount has since gone up to $9 million in a span of 3 years!
