Rihanna Migrates to Milan for Nivea’s 100th Anniversary

Nivea spokeswoman Rihanna jetted to Milan, Italy, to help the skincare brand usher in 100 years in business. The sexy chanteuse, looking demure in a white Dolce & Gabbana dress and long red braid, performed her ballad “California King Bed” and was presented with flowers by a company executive. The video for “California King Bed” was underwritten by Nivea and is expected to debut this month.

Beyoncé to Release Charity Single ‘God Bless the U.S.A.’

Beyoncé is proudly wearing her stars and stripes. With renewed patriotism sweeping across the country following the demise of Osama bin Laden, the singing sensation has recorded a studio version of “God Bless the U.S.A.”

The song will air on CNN’s “Piers Morgan Tonight,” with proceeds benefitting 9/11 charities. “#Beyonce released a new song, a cover of ‘God Bless the USA’, last night on PiersTonight CNN . He wrote, “All proceeds from #Beyonce song will go to New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund.”

Bey first performed the Lee Greenwood cover in 2008 for Barack Obama’s campaign and it arrives the same day as the President’s visit to Ground Zero to honor those lost on 9/11. “#Beyonce first recorded ‘God Bless The USA’ in 2008 for Pres Obama campaign but never released it,” added the British host, while showering praise on her rendition. “I just listened to the #Beyonce song – and it’s stunning.”

The patriotic single will become available on iTunes shortly after. “Fans should be able to buy #Beyonce song as soon as Friday on iTunes and from her website beyonce.com.”

New Video: Lady Gaga – ‘Judas’

Lady Gaga stirs up more controversy in the video for “Judas,” the second single from her third album Born This Way, due May 23. The envelope pusher stars as Mary Magdalene in the reimagining of the betrayal of Jesus Christ by Judas. The video opens with Gaga riding in a motorcycle gang with Jesus and his apostles through a modern day Jerusalem. During several wardrobe changes, she attempts to warn Jesus of Judas’ deceit, but in the end, she pays the ultimate price for his sins.

“We don’t touch on things that we have no right touching upon, but the inspiration and the soul and idea that out of your oppression, your darkness, your Judas, you can come into the marvelous light,” the clip’s co-director and choreographer Laurieann Gibson told the Hollywood Reporter . “So it’s about the inspiration and to never give up… We’ve created a new Jerusalem.”

Ciara and Amar’e Stoudemire of the New York Knicks made an official appearance at the Candie’s Foundation Event to Prevent benefit gala at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The new couple didn’t shy away from the cameras, smiling as they posed together.  At the event, Bruno Mars performed along with the legendary Aretha Franklin.

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon Announce Twins’ Names

The latest additions to the Carey-Cannon household now have names. Mariah and Nick have revealed what they’ll be calling their newborn twins.

The couple’s son is named Moroccan Scott Cannon, reports CNN. The top floor of Mariah’s New York City penthouse is called the Moroccan Room because of its Moroccan-inspired decor, and is where Nick proposed to his wife. Scott is Nick’s middle name, as well as his grandmother’s maiden name.

Their daughter will go by the name of Monroe Cannon in honor of Marilyn Monroe, who has been a lifelong inspiration to the pop songbird. She even purchased the late actress’ white piano at an auction. Mariah’s publicist says the girl does not have a middle name because Mariah herself does not have one.

Beyoncé rounds up her girls and hits the desert in the teaser for “Run the World (Girls),” the first single from her fourth album. A troupe of femme fatales turns the rural terrain into a runway as they parade around, but Mrs. Carter does not appear in this particular scene. The Francis Lawrence-directed clip was shot over several days in April in California.

Mayor Vincent Gray to Honor Raheem DeVaughn With Key to City

 

In recognition of his commitment to Washington D.C. , Grammy nominated R&B singer Raheem DeVaughn will be honored with a key to the city. Mayor Vincent C. Gray will bestow the acknowledgment to DeVaughn on Thursday, May 5, 2011 for his commitment to the Community, the Preservation of Music and Arts for the Youth and his dedication to educating and eradicating HIV/AIDS in the District’s Communities. May 5, DeVaughn’s birthday, will also become “Raheem DeVaughn Day.”

The Ceremony for Raheem DeVaughn’s Key To The City and Holiday Announcement with Mayor Vincent C. Gray will take place on Thursday, May 5, 2011 on the steps of the Wilson Building, located at 1350 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, DC 20004 at 3 P.M.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z hit the red carpet at the Costume Institute’s “Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty” Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City today (May 2). All eyes were on hip-hop’s royal couple as they posed for photos together, Jay in a black-and-white tux and his wife in an ornate black-and-gold Pucci gown. The fashion and entertainment worlds collided at the star-studded event, which was dedicated to the memory of the late designer Alexander McQueen.

Mariah Carey Delivers Twins on Wedding Anniversary

Mariah and husband Nick Cannon welcomed twins into the world yesterday on their third wedding anniversary. The baby girl came first at 5 pounds, 3 ounces, and 18 inches long; while her little brother was next at 5 pounds, 6 ounces, and 19 inches long.

Mariah and Nick have yet to share the names of the babies with the public but hinted that they would definitely be “unique”. Cindi Berger, Mariah’s representative, claims that they haven’t named the children yet.
