X does not mark the spot for Nicki Minaj. The Young Money rapper will not be appearing as a judge on Simon Cowell’s singing competition “The X Factor.”
Page Six previously reported that Cowell was in discussions with Minaj to join the judging panel on the show’s upcoming U.S. edition, along with former Island Def Jam CEO L.A. Reid.
Sources connected to Minaj tell TMZ that she won’t be taking on the gig, saying, “There’s nothing going on with [‘X Factor’].”
Cowell admitted to reporters that many of the names rumored to be in talks, including Jessica Simpson and Paula Abdul, were likely leaked from his own company to stir up buzz for the show, which premieres this fall on Fox.

Chris Brown put all his worries aside and partied with his “Beautiful People” last night at his F.A.M.E album release at Webster Hall in New York City. He celebrated his fourth LP with a packed crowd, performing “Deuces” with special guest Kevin McCall and “Ain’t Thinkin’ ‘Bout You” featuring Bow Wow. Waka Flocka Flame came out and supported with a rendition of his hit “No Hands,” while onlookers including Lloyd and YG showed Breezy some love.
Chris Brown may have lost his cool after Robin Roberts pressed him on his domestic dispute with Rihanna, but his off-air outburst came as a surprise to her. According to the “Good Morning America” host, Breezy pre-approved questions regarding the incident and shocked Roberts when he tore up his dressing room following their televised interview.
During today’s “GMA” broadcast, Roberts explained that it is the show’s policy to discuss topics with an interviewee in advance. “Anytime we have a guest here on the program, we let them know ahead of time the subject matter, the topics that we’re going to discuss and even right before the interview, I said that to Chris and I was shocked like everybody else was,” she revealed.
She thought Brown was joking when he tried to redirect the interview to discuss his new album F.A.M.E. “You saw me laughing during the interview because when he was doing that, I thought he was joking about some things because of the easy relationship that we have,” she explained.
Despite the headline-making episode and barrage of angry comments from Breezy fans, she’s ready to have him back on the show. “I’m glad that we’ve extended an invitation. We’d love to have him back and he’s seriously considering that,” she added. “We wish him the absolute best and and again we’ve extended the invitation to him and I sure hope that he takes us up on it, because I’d love to have another chat with him.”
After deflecting her on-air questions on Tuesday’s program, Brown performed his hit “Yeah 3X” without any sign of irritation. Once the cameras stopped rolling, he allegedly flew into a rage and trashed his dressing room, removing his shirt and exiting the station in a fury.
The show’s hair and makeup staff said they called security after hearing loud noises coming from his dressing room. A cooler was reportedly thrown and a window was smashed.
John Legend takes on British powerhouse Adele’s hit “Rolling in the Deep.” The G.O.O.D. Music crooner, who is working on his next album with executive producer Kanye West, strips down the original track, showcasing his Grammy-winning vocals acapella. Listen to the soulful stylings of Mr. Legend. Love it!! One of my favorite male singers.
Jennifer Hudson might be able to hit high notes with her voice but Chris Brown’s dance moves may help him to go even higher. As the chart rumble intensifies, Brown is set to outsell his belting counterpart on the Billboard 200 next week according to Hits Daily Double.
‘F.A.M.E’ (Brown’s 4th studio album) is projected to sell 250-275k copies next week, putting it on track to claim the #1 spot on the Billboard lineup. These figures will give him the honor of having the 2nd highest 1st-week sales of 2011 to date behind only Adele’s ‘21′ which opened with 351k earlier this year.
Hudson’s ‘I Remember Me’ is in line to claim the #2 spot with an impressive 150-175k copies sold. However, these numbers represent a significant decline from the 217k units that the ‘Where You At’ singer sold when her self-titled debut album which entered the chart with 217k in 2008.
